In 1789, the French Revolution erupted. After simmering and festering for a while, it finally boiled over into the murderous Reign of Terror. The anti-Catholic and proto-communist nature of the Revolution was encapsulated admirably by Church historian H.W. Crocker:
The state had its own church. It began with priests whose vestments included the tricolour of the Revolution. It moved on to a cult of Reason, and Reason’s altar replaced Christ’s at the cathedral of Notre Dame. The state also endorsed a cult of Nature…and of course a cult of the State. Heroes of the Revolution replaced the saints of the Church. In all this, the French Revolution presaged the state religions of Nazism and Communism, and, indeed, in its mass murders, nationalist uniformity, militarism, and lootings in the name of the state and of equality, it embodied the same principles.
By 1799, the Revolution had consumed itself in its own blood, the revolutionaries putting each other to death in a diabolical debauch. Napoleon emerged from the ruins of the Revolution as a military dictator.

The French Revolution is a fulfilment of prophecy in that the great false church , this counterfeit religious power suffered her “deadly wound”.....the pope taken captive in 1798. For the previous 1260 years, she ruled joined with the state in persecuting killing perhaps 100 million.
But her wound has healed.....
As I read this, I realized that the Left has been demonizing us as being like Hitler but the reality is that the emergence of the French Revolution shows that now the far left extremists are leading us into an evil situation.
I pray that our nation can navigate this moment to a peaceful and correct resolution!

Perhaps I should have labeled this as a Catholic Caucus thread, but I didn’t want this to focus on the Catholic aspect.
I wanted to focus on the fact that in the USA nowadays, we seem unwilling to call out the far left for going down a road which in France led to the deaths of tens if not hundreds of thousands in France alone.
It was not a reign of “reason”. Reason without truth is less than a half measure of the mind. The main driver was not reason but just pure vengence.
In the British colonies in North America the founders had reason on their side, and truth guiding the reason, and without a reign of vengence on the loyalists remaining among them. The French abandoned resaon when they abandoneed truth and loved vengence (”vengence is mine sayeth the lord).
Pope Pius VI was taken captive by French troops under Napoleon Bonaparte in 1798. He was actually taken captive by one of Napoleon’s generals.
This is a fulfillment of prophecy, specifically the 1260 years, or 42 months, (day for year principle) or times, time and half a time. All in Daniel and Revelation.
This counterfeit religious system ruled from 538 AD when pagan rome became papal rome and exactly 1260 years later, to 1798, she put to death perhaps 100 million of God’s true people. Her popes, prelates and priests. Then the fatal wound she would suffer ......and for over 100 years...she was pretty much insignificant.
Communism and atheism came of the French Revolution.
Prophecy says her wound would be healed and now once again....she is an influence in the world. The Jesuits are behind everything from climate change to the world economic forum, nations and leaders and elites all seek and audience with her in Rome......and in the end, it is her that will unite the world on common doctrine and it will appear to genuine, so real, so authenic.....the masses will fall for it..and all for the “common good”
And those who do not go along, with the “common good” will be put to death. Read Daniel 6:5.....they knew the only way to get him had to concern “the law of his God.”
That is why the 4th commandment is key in the end. Her catechism says Sunday......a counterfeit. The Bible says the 7th day. And I’m sticking to it.
The Protestant reformation extends to the very end of time but it’s a rough ride for those who stick with God’s law instead of man’s law.
But the world can jail me and even kill me...but it cannot give me eternal life. Only Jesus, the Lord of the Sabbath can do that.
All that aside, maybe you can consider some similarities between the emergence of the French Revolution and the far left today?
For example, once we had blue laws, nothingbopen on Sundays. The revolutionaries changed the 7-day week into a 10-day week (the metric system gone mad!). How did our blue laws get undone? Was it a plot on the part of the far left?

Absolutely,the Godless left we see today, here and in Europe is a direct result of the French Revolution. Atheism, communism, etc all accelerated because of what happened in France 2 centuries ago.
And this is even prophecy. Because we read that the King of the South, which is represented by Godless Egypt.....”Who is this God?” is ultimately defeated by the King of the North, Babylon which is a religious counterfeit.
And they will even sit at the same table. It’s clear..the Godless are going to screw things up so bad, then like an airplane going down......everyone gets religion in the end.....out of FEAR. Not love for Christ. Fear. Men’s hearts failing them for fear.

So religion will take over from atheism in the end.....but by then probation is up. Let he who is filthy be filthy and he who is righteous be righteous. When the door to Noah’s ark was shut...it was all over. Nobody could get in and nobody could get out....and then the rains started a week later.
Once God is complete his judgement in heaven...all cases are settled an angel flees from the temple.......shouting.....IT IS DONE!......then the last plagues which are so terrifying...but they won’t touch God’s remnant by then.
The Sabbath in God’s law is a key too.......it has always been a key.
Napoleon kidnapped Pope Pius VI and dragged him to Paris after looting the Vatican museum.

The French Revolution was for what they didn’t want. Afterwards there was more they didn’t want.
Management for what you don’t want doesn’t lead you anywhere.
Compare that with the American Revolution with very well reasoned goals.
Now regarding the church. Yes, now is a time for rebellion, but what is the goal? I don’t want this pope? Where does that lead you?
The Reformation of the 1500’s was about a desire for God’s truth. No one can deny that RC had wondered off the reservation and needed correction. Right now both RC and P need to find solid ground.
A reminder that the church is God’s chosen people, not institutions.

That shows a lack of historical knowledge. Rome was Christian from 378 AD when Emperor Theodosius declared it as the state religion (oh and you Adventists err on that one as well, with the Adventist nonsense claiming Constantine did it - he didn’t)
As to “her catechism “, that’s another Seventh day Adventist error, alongside the Adventist belief that Satan takes on the sins of the world.
The catholic catechism states that Sabbath remains on the last day of the week and that Christians worship on the first day 9f the week, called the Lord’s day.
And that is validated by Justin Martyrs writing in 160 AD and in the Didache dated to 55 AD
