Trump doesn't rule out banning vaccines if he becomes president: 'I'll make a decision' (might ban water fluoridation too)

He said that Kennedy was “going to work on health and women’s health,” and two sources close to the Trump campaign have told NBC News that he might play a prominent role in battling “chronic childhood disease.”

On Friday, Kennedy tweeted that on its first day in office, a Trump administration would push to ban fluoride in water, claiming it is “industrial waste” that leads to problems like cancer and other diseases.

“Well, I haven’t talked to him about it yet, but it sounds okay to me,” Trump said Sunday when asked about that plan. “You know, it’s possible.”

Major public health groups support water fluoridation, and health groups also emphasize that the practice is safe.

The Trump team has embraced Kennedy and some of his fringe views in recent days.

Last week, Howard Lutnick, the co-chair of the Trump transition team, praised Kennedy and questioned whether vaccines were “fine.”

On an episode of the “The Joe Rogan Experience” last week, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, Trump’s running mate, also spoke about his own experience with the Covid vaccine, expressing skepticism about it.

Kennedy, who ran for president as an independent this year before dropping his bid and endorsing Trump, has long spread conspiracies and falsehoods about vaccines and other public health matters. He has, for example, frequently claimed that vaccines are linked to autism, even though for decades, studies have debunked this theory.

Asked Sunday whether banning certain vaccines would be an option during a second term, the former president didn’t rule it out.

I have never before seen such an enormous propaganda campaign in the so-called news media. It should disgust every American who doesn’t wish to be lied to by a bunch of overpaid hucksters who work for Democrats.

Your thyroid needs iodine and has receptors to pull in iodine from your blood. But if you have fluorides in your blood, your thyroid will grab them over iodine.

I hate with a passion water fluoridation. There are plenty of fluoride toothpastes to buy if you want fluorides.

This was what was meant in Doctor Strangelove when the General talked about “poisoning our bodily fluids”. Water fluoridation was big John Birch thing back then.

Suuuuure, as if the President has the power to do that all by himself.
So this is another smear tactic?

Banning Fluoride in water on a whim is absurd. Let’s not promise such sweeping decisions that are not fully vetted.

Wish Trump would say something to the effect of “ Bobby is my guy for a reason. If he says that’s day 1 priority then it is. I pick winners and let them do their thing.”

Are you joking? There is absolutely nothing to be lost in banning fluoride in the drinking water. It’s a lay up that will pay huge dividends. There is literally no downside.

He doesn’t need to ban vaccines…just stop mandating them.

Why can’t people make up their own minds about stuff. Life was better when we could make our own decisions.

I’m old enough to remember when most adults and kids were not obese and dependent on meds.

As much as we need everything in the MAGA platform, in truth it may well be that MAHA will be Trump’s lasting legacy.

Who cares? If it gets more votes on election day, it’s worth it.

No one will NOT vote for him that was going to because of this statement.

But new people could vote for him.

WE are not promising them. Trump is and he’s a smart guy.

He’ll analyze it, so he’s not lying.

Boyscouts lose too many elections.

We can’t afford to lose this one.

Absurd. Vaccines save lives (and eradicated smallpox).

The covid RNA "vaccine" wasn't a vaccine but a trojan horse in the guise of a vaccine.

Trump doesn’t have to be so blatant by banning. Just refuse to federally fund such projects.

1. A critique of the studies that indicated some connection between flouridation of drinking water and cancer said:

“Some factors are hard to control for in these types of studies (that is, the groups being compared may be different in ways other than just the drinking water), so the conclusions reached by any single study need to be looked at with caution.”

But that is true as well with the studies that have claimed there is no “detectable” cancer risk from public flouridation of water.

2. I think a better public policy would be (a) public disclosure of the level of natural flouridation in the local public drinking water supply, with (b) suggested recoomedation of level of flouridation in driking water, to help prevent tooth decay, (c) with publcly, conmercially availanle supplies of “water flouridation” additives that peopke can chose to add to their drikning water, if they want.

In essence, the government can suppply unbiased knowledge and then let people make their own chocies.
