Thousands of layoffs will continue as planned at Boeing, no matter how union Machinists vote on the latest contract proposal aimed at ending a strike now in its eighth week.
Members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers union, including 17,000 members from the Boeing plant in Everett, will vote Monday on the offer union leadership announced Thursday.
A simple majority of yes votes would end the strike, and send Machinists back to work. A no vote would extend the strike that has cost the company billions of dollars and led to Boeing launching a $21 billion stock share sale to avoid a credit downgrade.

Perhaps the strike could have positive effect in that Boeing’s stock would go to junk status, Musk would purchase Boeing for pennies on the dollar, fire the totally incompetent upper management, and get the company back to producing the best airliners in the world.
I’m waiting for some bigger fish to purchase Boeing. I don’t see it as a viable company on it’s own.

Their government contracts are worth a fortune. The new buyer would need to renegotiate all the DIE crap in them. Idiots don’t realize they have the government by the short and curlies not the other way around. Unless Kamala wins then Boeing will be nationalized. Like silicon valley already has been.

Wouldn’t that be something. Boeing, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tesla.
Fire them all. Close down the company. Take big bonuses. Sell the assets.
maybe these fools can vote to put boeing out of business like the unions voted to destroy Studebaker [and destroy every one of their jobs, to boot].
Unless you want to see Airbus buying it, there is no bigger fish in the American Aerospace industry than Boeing.
