Report: Inflation Reduction Act sent seniors' health care costs surging

(The Center Square) – Medicare premiums and senior citizens' prescription drug costs have surged since passage of the $891 billion Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, according to data compiled by an advocate for seniors on the federal health care program.

The legislation promised financial relief for millions of people with Medicare by expanding benefits, lowering drug costs, and strengthening Medicare for future seniors. Medicare Is for Seniors' "Misery Index," as the report is known, says prescription drug costs instead have risen nationally by 31%, leaving seniors with new expenses and fewer options. Those costs will rise again under the new Plan B premiums....

As previously reported by The Center Square, the new average plan bid for a standard Part D coverage will increase by 179% for 2025, partly due to an underestimation of federal attributions to the Part D changes. ...

... the Inflation Reduction Act makes Medicare Drug Plans offer costly new benefits and siphons funds from Medicare into the federal treasury for its funding, most notably its electric car and green energy subsidies.

In an op-ed for the Atlanta Journal Consitution, Merritt wrote that "rates for Medicare Prescription Drug Plans have risen four times more than the national rate of inflation since the IRA was enacted. In some battlegrounds, it's risen eight or nine times higher."...

[Report: Inflation Reduction Act sent seniors’ health care costs surging]

This is not an accident; it’s a FEATURE.

They’re trying to get rid of American Senior Citizens to save on Social Security and healthcare (Medicare).

1) Obamacare (Obamascare)

2) COVID-19(84) - endless jabs, mRNA in everything

3) Sending out the (fairly) wealthy Ikki Haley (she’s worth $8-$10 million) telling you she’s gonna cut your Social Security

4) Replacement of the American workforce with foreigners

I’m hoping for the Rapture. Or the Z man is gonna Tomahawk / Storm Shadow us into World War III. That might solve my retirement problems but not the way I hoped.

Of course there’s always the rich single woman who wants a crazy Bible Prophecy guy....well, maybe not. But I can dream. LOL

I’m willing to do the cooking and I do O.K......ha - Walmart O.K. that is.

2025 Medicare does not lower prescription costs. It allows you to pay for them on a monthly installment plan.

Wow!! I see the drug companies raising costs as people will only have to pay a small amount each month...

I know my Part D is going to be nearly 50% more this year because the companies have shifted one of my particular medication from tier 6 to tier 3. All of them offering plans in my area have done that.

Meanwhile, Commiela and FJB praise the IRA as if it was some godsend instead of the hell spawn it truly is.

I hate dumblecrats.

But it's been a huge talking point beginning with the debate with Harris and on through the campaign how the Inflation Reduction Act has lowered drug costs for seniors and how it's something President Trump failed to do. If we had an actual media, they'd be all over this report for the morning shows in the same way they were all over the Puerto Rico garbage joke this past Monday morning. And you know AARP will be equally silent.

This is a big thing going in the weekend before the election that not only are seniors (gulp, like me now) getting hosed by something Harris keeps saying is saving us money, but we're getting hosed to subsidize the Green New Scam. That could move votes. I hope the Trump campaign has something on this for the battleground states.

$27B to Friends of Biden
The Biden-Harris Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) doled out billions of taxpayer dollars in August to a left-wing nonprofit consortium linked to Democratic voter mobilization efforts, including a Stacey Abrams’ get-out-the-vote initiative based in Georgia.

And, despite the costs, US healthcare deteriorated hugely since Obamacare started “working”.
Not only it costs a lot more, there are huge waiting lists and sometimes it is impossible to find decent doctor at all!
We are getting Canadian healthcare!

Our Part D premium is going up 74%, and our agent tells us that all the other plans are increasing about the same amount too.

Report: Inflation Reduction Act sent seniors' health care costs surging.

One of the many reasons people hate Congress is because they promise things and name bills, which produce the opposite of what they're being named and sold as . The "Inflation Reduction Act" is one of those bills.

I've told my representatives in Congress many times that they represent their party, their millionaire donors, lobbyists and media companies - but they don't represent me or their constituents. They sicken me!

God help us!

“Additionally, we have been able to cut prescription drug costs, cap the cost of insulin at $35 a month for seniors, and lower premiums for those on Medicare. Our Administration has also reached unprecedented agreements with pharmaceutical companies to lower prices for the first 10 drugs selected for the Medicare price negotiation program –”

Our Medicare advantage plan will now have a $590 deductible per person for Tier 3 and 4 drugs. So our broker warned my wife and I to be prepared to cough up nearly $1200 in January. That’s how Biden lowered insulin to $35 per month—simple cost shifting.

My mom was complaining about how her costs are way up and even with Medicare she can’t find a single doctor who will accept it. No matter how many times I tell her she can thank the democrats she still votes for every single democrat and every democrat policy religiously.
