A “Stop the Steal” Conspirator Is Headed to Prison. But What About Her Accomplices?
Slate ^ | Oct 22, 2024 | Susan Greenhalgh

Posted on 10/29/2024 5:42:53 AM PDT by cuz1961

Earlier this month, Tina Peters, a former Colorado county clerk, was sentenced to nine years’ incarceration for her role in allowing Trump allies access to Mesa County’s voting system. . It doesn’t matter that these voting-machine “analyses” have never proved election fraud: They could still be weaponized for postelection litigation.

Taking the proprietary software that records and counts votes is no small thing. In the wrong hands, it presents real and serious risks to the security of our election systems. In early 2021, before any of these breaches were known, Cyber Ninjas sought to obtain copies of Arizona’s voting system software as part of the “audit.” Arizona’s vendor, Dominion Voting Systems, vehemently objected, stating that allowing partisan entities like Cyber Ninjas to have its proprietary voting software would cause “irreparable damage” to the “election security interests of the country.” Yet Cyber Ninjas and many of its cohort have copies of that software, and no one is addressing the damage that has been done to our election security.

Since 2022, we at Free Speech for People have been demanding a federal investigation into the voting software scheme, but there’s no evidence of any action. The DOJ mustn’t ignore this any longer. It’s time for action.

But these limited, local prosecutions don’t include the many others that are directly implicated in this multistate scheme. Moreover, there is no evidence of a federal investigation to examine how this cohort of election deniers worked together to unlawfully take voting software from multiple states and share it with the common goal of undermining the 2020 election result. Even more importantly, it appears that no law enforcement agency is contemplating how these election deniers, most of whom have not been charged, may use the illicitly obtained voting software to challenge or subvert the 2024 election.

Another one of the “Government’s” political prisoners.

This is especially critical, as testimony provided to the Jan. 6 committee suggests that in December 2020, Sidney Powell, Patrick Byrne, and Rudy Giuliani discussed with none other than Donald Trump himself the plot to take voting software.

Actually after her sentencing she did release her records and yes, there was evidence of fraud

This software should be Open Source, so anyone can inspect it. I also recommend that the software be given a digital signature and it should be compared to appropriate certificates, to ensure no one slips in new software temporarily.

IIRC

dominion apparently had a “maintenance” Trusted Better Build Better , or some such named, agreement of some sort

they used as a tactic to write over the cast vote records in all the states and iirc tina tried to save the cast vote record .

.

\\

...But these limited, local prosecutions don’t include the many others that are directly implicated in this multistate scheme....

\\

so if there were others like tina in other states in cahoots as this urinalist spew states...why werent they also prosecuted ?

jan 6 committee ?

‘Taking the proprietary software that records and counts votes is no small thing.’

What a moronic statement by an ignorant driveby propagandist.

Voting softwares, which should never have been allowed in the first place, should be open source and totally auditable, like any encryption algorithm used in everyday’s financial transactions. Their security must be solely based on mathematical robustness (in other word, the difficulty to decompose the public/private key pair) and must never rely on secrecy.
Besides, the supposedly breach is not even remotely about the source code, so conflating it to ‘no small thing” for security is laughable. It would be funny if it was not that stupid.

I want to see the Judge that sentenced her going to prison. Also the prosecutor. Also the other corrupt members of Colorado's government that engaged in election fraud and coverup.

A lot of people in Colorado need to be sent to prison. Hopefully Trump's justice department will investigate and prosecute.

Voting software should absolutely be open source. There should be absolutely no secrecy in the code used by voting machines, and indeed, any attempts to hide it should be regarded as defacto vote fraud attempts.

People need to go to jail for this, and especially everyone involved with covering up the voting software and trying to punish anyone trying to expose the corruption.
