Ukraine Blocked from Joining NATO

Zelensky cried earlier in the week that he needed a “security umbrella” from NATO, since the alliance had deemed Ukraine too corrupt to join before and after the war began. Every day these world leaders put us on the brink of World War III with no regard for their actions. In the most recent vote, seven NATO members once again prevented Ukraine from joining.

The United States and Germany voted no. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that more thought would be required to permit Ukraine to join the alliance, and that the support of the United States was crucial. Joe Biden has previously stated he would not support membership amid the ongoing war as doing so would invoke Article V and immediately lead to World War III. Biden has said that he supports a “rational path” for Ukraine’s membership in the future. The neocons are strategically holding off for now.

Hungary and Slovakia are simply not eager to go to war with Russia. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said permitting entry “would be a good basis for a third world war.” “As long as I am Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, I will ensure that the MPs under my political control, as the chairman of the [ruling] party, never agree to Ukraine’s NATO membership,” he stated.

Orban of Hungary also would like to see diplomatic solutions over escalated warfare. “We do not approve of this, nor do we want to participate in financial or arms support (for Ukraine), even within the framework of NATO,” Orban stated, also urging the alliance to seek out normal relations with Russia when the war ends. Orban is looking to redefine Hungary’s role in NATO entirely and has recently toyed with the idea of an “opt-out” status since his nation has personal issues with Ukraine over energy.

Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland have expressed their support. “Countries like Belgium, Slovenia, or Spain are hiding behind the US and Germany. They are reluctant,” said one of the NATO officials. Europe is in deep trouble if the NATO alliance dissolves.

They have been attempting to cohesively build a defense system but as we saw with the creation of the European Union it is impossible for every nation to agree, hence why they install unelected officials to call the shots.

No NATO or EU admission for the basket case country. Their long known reputation for severe corruption has caught up with them, and everyone in the EU knows this.

The EU will simply not add a country that is corrupted, decimated and a liability when they are broke themselves.

Now to extract the USA from “NATO” and let the stinking Europeans fight their own dirty little wars.

You can’t be at war if you want to join NATO.

I thought the NATO compact said a country couldn’t join NATO if it was currently engaged in a war.

To be fair, when Ukraine was younger and prettier, US-NATO used her for their booty calls.

They tempted them with EU membership, free migration to leave their corrupt country, lots of aid, alliance with the mighty NATO, etc...

And when half the country opposed the idea, NATO and the USA gave them a new government.

For their part, Ukraine let FJB’s kids and his crew have free-run of their house. They even went to war with the neighbors for US-NATO

So now Ukraine is US-NATO’s baby momma.

Ukraine isn’t so pretty anymore, and wants US-NATO daddy to shoulder some responsibility for the the crappy apartment, the kids, school fees, and the angry neighbor next door etc...

Daddy is tired of the b***tch and part of him feels he’s already done more than enough...

Right. And Russia doesn't want a wild card NATO country on his door step.

Way back when the USSR fell, Russia wanted in NATO and was rejected but with a proviso. No NATO for Russia but in exchange .... a neutral, non aligned Ukraine.

I hope I recall that correctly. In any case, Clinton, Bush, Rumsfeld and Cheney have all since reneged on that agreement. Think Vlad's nose is outta joint!

You are confused….The Federation of Russia is not communist, Soviet Russia was. They have done exceedingly well embracing capitalism.

The Soviet empire collapsed in 1991. I worked in Moscow training Ivans for many years, and in many respects ( taxation, bureaucratic rules, health care, etc…) the citizens are far better off than the US is today. Let me help you out:

communism /kŏm′yə-nĭz″əm/
noun
A theoretical economic system characterized by the collective ownership of property and by the organization of labor for the common advantage of all members.

capitalism /kăp′ĭ-tl-ĭz″əm/
noun

An economic system based on predominantly private (individual or corporate) investment in and ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange of goods and wealth; contrasted with socialism or especially communism, in which the state has the predominant role in the economy

Ukraine, Europe’s bastard son.
————
The age old European saying: “When shaking hands with a Ukrainian, be sure to check how many fingers he stole”, truer every day.

The Ukies have applied for EU admission since 1991. Continuously denied because of their corruption and defaults on loans.

The collective West is backing the dark horse, they will never gain EU admission. The EU has huge problems and do not need another Welfare Nation.

A true statement. Most here are not old enough to recall those times. First in the late 1950’s, again when the Soviet empire collapsed.

Why were they denied NATO entry? The most logical explanation: loss of profits for our defense industry. America’s forever wars must continue.

“Why were they denied NATO entry?”

As a guess, maybe the US wanted to be the big dog in the yard. They didn’t want a solid Europe which included Russia to stand in opposition to the US.

It suited the US to square off with Russia alone, instead of tip toeing around issues with a unified Europe that included long standing allies AND Russia. Just guessing

The neocons spiking the football when the Soviet Union collapsed caused all of this.
