Zelensky unveils ‘Victory Plan’ after failing to drum up additional support from allies

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky presented his long-anticipated “Victory Plan” to Ukrainian parliament on Wednesday, after failing to drum up additional, tangible support last week during meetings with European allies.

The plan, which consists of five points and three additional “secret” points shared only with certain partners, would be a bridge toward future peace talks with Russia, Zelensky told lawmakers in Kyiv, as he aims to bolster Ukraine’s position enough to end the war.

At the heart of Zelensky’s plan is Ukraine’s desire for an invitation to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), which would be a precursor to full NATO membership, but something that Ukraine’s allies have been cool on with the country still at war with Russia.

It also outlines provisions to strengthen Ukraine’s defense, implement a non-nuclear strategic deterrence package and grow Ukraine’s economy.

“If we start implementing this Victory Plan now, we may be able to end the war no later than next year,” Zelensky said in a plea to his own lawmakers and more crucially, Ukraine’s backers abroad.

But many of the provisions in the plan have already been floated by Kyiv.

The Ukrainian president first presented the victory plan to US President Joe Biden during a September visit to the White House. The Biden administration ordered a surge of additional assistance for Ukraine during that visit and unveiled a $375 million aid package, but stopped short of meeting Kyiv’s demands for permission to strike deeper into Russia. Biden has repeatedly said the US and allies “have to support Ukraine on its path to membership to both the EU and to NATO, and to continue to make reforms to counter corruption,” but an invitation to join has not yet been extended.

Zelensky's "Victory Plan" proposes the deployment of a “comprehensive non-nuclear strategic deterrence package on its soil that will be sufficient to protect Ukraine from any military threat from Russia.”

But he didn't give details about what a non-nuclear deterrent would look like in practice.

His plan has five points and three additional “secret” points which are going to be shared only with certain partners. He didn't disclose who the "certain members" are.

His plan is purposely vague on other matters as well.

Zelensky likes to play fast and loose.

Shouldn’t a “victory plan” being the works long before he got the first bullet?

What allies?

Serious question, which nation(s) has/have an alliance with the Ukraine?

The WHO advised Ukraine to destroy high-threat pathogens housed in the their public health labs over 3 years ago.

Do you think Ukraine followed their advice?

A “Victory Plan” should have been in the works long before he got the first American Taxpayer dollar.

That would be helpful if I knew who said it, what that person means by “Allies” and “partner countries”, and who those fifty countries are by name.

Back in July, the Biden Regime came up with the “Ukraine Compact”, signed by the leaders of 23 countries who share the common goal “that Ukraine that is free, sovereign, democratic, independent, and prosperous, and able to defend itself and deter future aggression...”

“We the leaders of the United States of America, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, together with the President of the European Council, the President of the European Commission, and the President of Ukraine...”

Holding off the world’s second strongest nation that shares a border with them, and now fighting North Korea as well, and approaching their 3rd year of fighting off the invaders, is probably more than what you expected 32 months ago.

Zzzzzz___yyy sounds like a branch office manager for the Hairless/Balz campaign! Then again, I guess UKR *is* more or less a DemonRat client territory. I bet they have swing state mail-in ballot processing facilities.

We’ve never seen NATO fight a war, they brought down Russia’s empire without a war.
