A Bellflower woman was shot and killed by her ex-boyfriend the same day she obtained a restraining order to keep him away from her and her son, who was also shot when the suspect burst into their apartment Tuesday night, authorities said.
Deputies responding to a shooting call on the 8500 block of Artesia Boulevard found a 26-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his hip around 11:30 p.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Hugo Reynaga said.
...
Reynaga said the woman killed in the shooting had obtained a restraining order earlier Tuesday against the suspect, who “happens to be her ex-boyfriend.”
Since June, deputies had been to the apartment seven times for domestic violence-related calls involving the suspect.

Owning your own weapon comes to mind.
“We need a better system for handling these types of problems.”
We had one, and it worked well for several thousand years.
Cops need to arrest him and knock him around on the way to the station.
If you read the whole article the story is all over the place....sounds like the cops walked in right in the middle of what was going on.
The son was 26 years old living with his mother the victim who was 54 and the perpetrator was 59 who was also killed but they don’t say how other than he was shot in the head. We are left to conclude that he killed himself.
Unless the restraining order is printed on body armor, it’s essentially useless for protection.
The perp apparently offed himself while the police were speaking with the son.
I read that story 3 times and still can’t understand it.
2 dead ages 54 and 59 and one is the suspect?
People are often surprised to discover what other people are capable of doing.
“”When deputies entered the apartment they found the wounded man’s mother, 54, and the suspect, 59, suffering from gunshot wounds to the head, according to Reynaga.””
WHO shot the suspect?
59 year old male killed 54 year old woman and shot her 26 year old son, then apparently offed himself while the police were speaking with the son.
Apparently self inflicted.
BOO GOT SHOT!! Can’t help but post this every time a story like this one needs explaining! I miss Neal Boortz!
yes, very poorly written. No doubt created by a graduate of American "journalism schools"
Lots of DEI and marxist intersectional theory, no actual rhetoric, logic, writing or composition courses
I’ve found that if you hold up the restraining order in front of the perp with a gun, a bullet won’t penetrate it! /S
A restraining order is a piece of paper, same as a target at a shooting range. She should have backed it up with something substantial, like a 12 gauge.
I cannot believe this guy would ignore the restraining order....
Not worth the paper it was printed on.
There probably wasn’t time to serve him the order, so he didn’t know he was supposed to stay away from her and not kill her.
