Rasmussen Real Unemployment Rate: Again, Double the Official Rate...

National unemployment was 8.7% in this month’s Rasmussen Reports Real Unemployment update, up from 8.4% last month and significantly more than double the 4.1% rate officially reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics today.

The Rasmussen Real Unemployment rate is derived by asking American Adults who they work for. Those who respond “unemployed, but looking for work” are aggregated at the end of the month and weighted to match the nation’s demographic profile.

These numbers are a little different than what the Biden/Harris administration are putting out.

I’m in the not working group, but that’s a choice.

I’m not looking either.

I wonder if they included retirees.

But I am certainly keeping busy enough. There’s more than enough to do with the garden and maintaining the property and laying in a supply of firewood to season for NEXT winter.

When I heard Republicans whining and complaining that the Unemployment rates were too low during B. Hussein’s administration, why didn’t they just use the old way to counting like they did in 1980?

People who are not working and living off welfare are not counted as unemployed.!!! If we did count them, the number would be 25% and among blacks 75%.

In 1980 the unemployment eate was a sample of 65,000 working age people. Those that were not working were then asked if they were looking for work. Lots of reason why the answer was yes even though many weren’t looking. So the unemployment rate has always been understated.

I think the reason that the unemployment rate is understated is because the State governments are working very hard to drop people receiving benefits. I know that I was on unemployment for four months, and was dropped for "double-dipping". That was three years ago.

signed, Unemployed and looking.
