The Government's Failure to Help After Helene Goes Far Beyond What the Media Is Willing to Tell You
Red State ^ | October 04, 2024 | Brandon Morse

Posted on 10/06/2024 4:05:12 AM PDT by george76

Another day, another batch of news coming from the people that demonstrates just how much the government has failed the people, especially the victims of Hurricane Helene.

Amid the heartbreak and loss, we've been learning that FEMA has completely used up its budget to the point where there's little to no funds for disaster relief, reportedly because much of the budget was used up helping illegals at the border.

This isn't exactly common knowledge because the media isn't being forthcoming with this information. In fact, every time I mention this on various accounts, a handful of leftists pop up and tell me I'm spreading lies and that I have no proof. If you've been watching RedState's coverage, the proof is there.

...

The reason the media doesn't want to cover this is obvious. This is one of the biggest government scandals in modern history, and one that makes the Biden-Harris administration look horrific. This is right before people go to the polls to vote, no less.

The vast majority of the news and updates we're getting come from people on the ground who are having to deal with the effort to help these people directly. For instance, this woman who is running supplies described how four FEMA agents got off a private jet, and she soon learned that no others would be coming because most FEMA agents are tied up at the border.

She described how the army has taken over body recovery and that she overheard them saying that whatever number of dead there are, "go ahead and add a couple of zeroes."

She continues by saying that most of the supplies she's seen came from private organizations such as the Cajun Navy and the ASPCA.

...

Former Army Ranger and MMA fighter Tim Kennedy is also on the ground, and his report sounds very similar to what he told a local news station. According to Kennedy, FEMA is present, but they're "in the way."

"They're directly interrupting our ability to conduct missions and operations," said Kennedy.

Kennedy described a moment where he attempted to book a couple of people into a hotel to give them shelter, but the hotel turned them away as it had been booked for federal employees. Kennedy said he slept in his car that night and that he's filthy and under-slept, noting that the organization he's working with, "Save Our Allies," are all in the same state he is.

"This is Biblical levels of devastation," Kennedy continued. "This is apocalyptic, the things that we see out there."

Kennedy also expressed his frustration that rescue efforts had to cease so that Biden and Harris could land for photo ops.

If you think back to the way that George W. Bush was torpedoed by the media over his handling of Katrina, the silence about the failures of government during Helene is deafening. Not only are they dragging their feet in helping, they're actively getting in the way of helping people find shelter. It's all boiled down to the people helping the people, while the government posts the aforementioned photo-ops to make it seem like they care and are doing things to help.

Things are really bad in places like North Carolina, and I have a feeling we'll only know the real extent of how bad it got after the election.

The key letter in FEMA is "A", administration. It is a bureaucracy and nothing more. FEMA must be abolished. In it's place there should simply be a fund, an account - no buildings, no offices, no employees, and no expenses.

When a disaster occurs, the management and dispersal of the funds needs to be payed out to governors of the affected states, determined by an ad hoc, non-partisan select committee of subject-matter experts that are paid no salary, but are ready to assemble on a moments notice.

By law the funds should be expended only for the direct or indirect benefit of the victims. States and local governments can manage this more effectively than the feds. They are closer to the people and their needs. All expenditures need to be accounted for and made public records.

Military assistance should be made available though the National Guards and Reserve units best able to provide their expertise when called upon.

HELP YOURSELF. Expecting the government to do something is how we got this massive federal government communist swamp that records, monitors, and oppresses all opposition.

FEMA is the 2nd government, the shadow government, designed to provide continuity when the 1st government is destroyed in nuclear war. It is all about being able to destroy the remaining little bit of Russia/China/Iran/Whomever.

Continuity of Government. It is a massive enterprise started when nuclear weapons were being built out and the air force was planning on how to wipe out entire cities just for fun and games.

Why would anyone ever rely on the federal government? It’s a massive disaster no doubt and it will take years to recover but expecting the federal government to fix anything won’t happen.

State and local will help along with family, friends and neighbors.

That being you should always be prepared as best you can be.

Will Biden/Harris attempt to postpone the election, claiming a national emergency due to people being unable to vote? Is this why government is dragging their feet providing help?

Their new “pets” will not remain loyal forever. Especially the Chinese nationals or the Middle Eastern nationals. They are NOT here to “assimilate”, they are here to undermine and eventually overthrow the fool democrats.

The democrats’ arrogance and incompetence will doom us all unless they are kicked out of power.

Absolutely correct on that Freeper. This storm has the potential to be worse ever for Tampa. Bastardi was commenting on that yesterday. IMO, not just a problem for Tampa, the course is right through Orlando and Daytona according to most models at this point at a very powerful hurricane so while there maybe be monumental flooding in Tampa Bay, the middle of the state will see high damaging winds. Of course it could wobble north or south of Tampa but four days out now at 9AM EDT

Gov DeSantis issued a State of Emergency for 31 counties yester from St John’s to Citrus.

The FEMA response has been so corrupt and incompetent that the derpstate had to drag out NPR - NPR! this morning to talk up the great work private citizens were doing to help the victims.

It's the derpstate's way of redirecting attention and getting ahead of the story. "Don't look over there at the FEMA officials standing around with thumbs up their asses, look over here at these hunters delivering supplies on ATVs."

It is amazing the hypocrisy of the left after they criticised Bush for Katrina to the left now pub, icly and openly proving that they are far far worse than Bush ever was. Their inaction and lack of empathy and care is stunning. Their snide remarks such as “well, we warned them” (as if to say “what do you want us to do? We warned them to prepare and they didn’t, therefore Their. Misery is is of their own doing or lack of doing)

Thr left are just outright giving Americans the middle finger now at every turn. Billions and billions for illegals, for terrorist nations, for filthy vile projects, but hardly a $1000 forthose who just lost everything

Which is our installed “government” more guilty of?
Or is there a better description?

Depraved Murder? Deprave Manslaughter?

Pick one:

What is the difference between Manslaughter and Depraved Indifference?

1. Depraved indifference murder requires a recklessness which creates a “grave” risk of death,

2. Reckless manslaughter requires a recklessness which creates a “substantial” risk of death.

When the Feds “give” money in loans or grants there’s always the risk they’ll take it back and charge the recipient with interest or charges of criminal fraud.

I live in NC. Gov. Cooper is a Dem. Like all Dems, he has been useless in this crisis.

More than that, I’d guess. There’s still likely a HUGE amount of distribution lines that are out, too. It seems to me that there will need to be a total rebuild of everything.
