No, Richmond Times / Dispatch, Hurricane Helene Is Not Proof of “Climate Change”
Roanoke Star ^ | 10/2/2024 | Roanoke Star

The Richmond Times-Dispatch no longer has a climate alarmist on staff, so today it fell to one of its liberal political columnists (it still has two of those, they will be the last employees out the door) to blame Hurricane Helene on “climate change.”

The mountain people of the Shenandoah and Western North Carolina have been there for a long time. These storms have happened before and the focus should be on recovery, not trying to score "told ya so" political points as the trash media is currently doing.

Is Climate Change about the cataclysmic Ice Age that was upon us throughout the 70’s til the mid 80’s that was created by our pollution? or is it about the out of control Global Warming that was created by our pollution??

So COnfused...

According to the Weather Channel, anything to do with being outside (sunscreen, insects, too much rain, too little rain, etc.) is the fault of man. I rarely go to their website these days.

I know it’s been a while since I picked up the Times-Dispatch - but I do recall them as a more conservative paper, especially in the editorial pages.

I used to read it whenever I was in Virginia. Even when I was up in NoVa, I’d pick up a copy of it and the Washington Times.

It sounds like I’m not missing anything anymore.

Without those hurricanes, the oceans would die from lack of oxygen. It takes a massive force to churn the waters and bring oxygen to the depths, and regulate ocean temperatures.

Many of the areas hit by lingering storms would go into drought. Much of that land is sandy soil.

Hurrìcanes are necessary and needed.

Great old folk song in version by Tom Rush. Saw him perform maybe 5 or 6 times in Detroit.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTnAxLOwGHQ

The Galveston Flood in 1900 was before any appreciable number of cars and trucks, no air conditioners, with a much lower population and still there was a flood chronicled at the Library of Congress :
“The “Night of Horrors” September 8, 1900, begins as a 15-foot storm surge rolls across Galveston, Texas, killing over 8,000. Dawn breaks over a grisly scene of bodies in the streets. The Galveston flood is remembered even to this day as the deadliest natural disaster in the history of the United States.”
“The storm destroyed about 7,000 buildings of all uses in Galveston, which included 3,636 demolished homes; every dwelling in the city suffered some degree of damage. The hurricane left approximately 10,000 people in the city homeless, out of a total population of fewer than 38,000.”
///////////////////
Another remembered by Delta Blues singers....
“The Mississippi River flood of 1927 inundated roughly 27,000 square miles of land and displaced some 700,000 persons. Property damage was estimated at $400 million, and 246 people died in the flood waters. Particularly hard hit by the disaster was the Mississippi Delta region.”

Next in line is that pumping oil out of the ground will cause catastrophic earthquakes. The oil producers will be sued out of existence for "causing destructive earthquakes".

Really. I've already sensed it being out there for messaging.

My daughter was trying to sell this to me last night. I pointed out there have been very few hurricanes in the US over the past couple of years.

Does this one suck? A Lot? Yes, it does. We should have plenty of FEMA funds available to respond and get these people help. We should be delivering goods and medications via Chinook until we can get back through the roads. Or evacuating the sick, injured, or trapped.

It doesn’t seem that difficult.

But its not climate change.

In 1969 Hurricane Camille, which hit the Gulf Coast as a Cat 5 storm—the first since the Labor Day Hurricane of 1935—also went into the Appalachians and caused massive flooding.

...created by our pollution??

So COnfused...

As confused as they are? After all, they've named CO2 a pollutant, when life on Earth is based on carbon. If atmospheric CO2 increased fivefold the only effect you'd notice is plant life thriving.

Climate Change has been happening since this Earth was formed. Wonder if the press can change? They’ve lied since they began. Change would be good for the press. The People might could trust the press again.

As unlikely as secret, high-tech weather control may be—or seem—it’s far more likelier to cause hurricanes than the left’s claims of global warming climate change.

Think that already happened in Pennsylvania.

But of course it will spread - they use the courts to do all their dirty work.
