Lawmakers fear ‘chaos’ if Trump-Harris race goes to the wire
The Hill ^ | 09/30/24 6:00 AM ET | by Alexander Bolton

Lawmakers in both parties are bracing themselves for a messy aftermath to Election Day as polls show the race between former President Trump and Vice President Harris is so close in several battleground states that it could take days to determine the winner.

Democratic senators say they fear Trump and his allies will seize on any initial uncertainty over the results to claim election fraud if Harris is projected the early winner.

Some lawmakers are already girding themselves for another battle on the Senate and House floors over certifying the election if Harris is declared the winner.

Though Congress passed the Electoral Count Reform and Presidential Transition Improvement Act in 2022 to avoid a reprise of Jan. 6, 2021, when a pro-Trump mob marched on the Capitol, some Democrats worry that history may repeat itself.

“A reasonable person has to be concerned with the rhetoric that’s coming out of certain states and certainly out of the Trump campaign. Once again they’re setting the stage whereby any loss will be blamed on corruption at the ballot box, even when there’s no possible support for that allegation,” Sen. John Hickenlooper (D-Colo.) said.

“I am concerned that there’s going to be chaos. They’re going to try to slow things down. If it looks like they’re losing, the Trump campaign will try every avenue possible,” he said.

Democrats have filed an ethics complaint in Georgia accusing members of the state election board of holding an illegal meeting and passing rules that exceed their authority.

The Center for Media and Democracy, a progressive nonprofit watchdog group, published a report this month claiming that more than 230 officials in eight states — Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin — have denied the legitimacy of the 2020 election ...

Freepers this is interesting. Consider the source and the projection going on here.

They're up to something. AGAIN.

No Fk'n balloted election should take days it's only if shenanigans are going on that it takes time...

In UK, India, etc. the counting of the ballots are done in a matter of hours!

SHAM...

It’s going to be chaos no matter what happens.

Yep, we’re getting gaslighted and prepped for the necessary time it will take to “find” more ballots to insure a narrow Dem victory in swing states.

Close doesn’t mean it takes longer to count ballots

This is BS, in my opinion.

It’s given away in the first paragraph. It could take days to know who won.

Fearing their fake democracy? Legitimizing a steal to “keep the peace”? (National Security)

Sorry I misread close for chaos!

Chaos is what they want for a STEAL. That’s all it is.

Very interesting article if you read between the lines

HICKENLOOPER has more problems in his home state of Colorado that he realizes.

He needs to clean out the ‘Venez’ gangs.

Center for Media and Democracy...that is a new one.
Did they rename Media Matters?

A very simple fix that neither the GOP nor Dems have enough guts to talk about.

For Federal Elections:
1) Paper ballots only with ID.
2) No mail in voting.

...and suppose it’s a super-blw-off landslide for Trump?
(It’s possible due to inaccurate poll-based anticipations...)

Do you suppose the left will STFU for a while? Or go berzzerk? If I were a gamblin’ man, I’d bet on “Berzzerk.”

Imagine 200 ballots received.

103 for Kamala, 80 in-person, 23 mail-in
97 for Trump, 97 in-person

Imagine 8 mail-in ballots were sent in fraudulently.

What should be done?

Debit 8 from Kamala’s count.

95 for Kamala
97 for Trump

If Republicans shun mail-in voting, then fraud can be dealt with. I’ve read that Trump recommends in-person voting ASAP.

What about Republicans and independents that need to vote by mail?

They might photograph the presidential page of their ballot against something unique to themselves (part of their wood floor, the lower part of a damaged table leg of theirs, their voter ID) and e-mail that photograph as an attachment before the election to themselves or to a close relative.

That’s near certain proof. I think merely being a registered Republican and swearing you voted for Trump would be sufficient for a court. Other ways a court might accept include telling neighbors one voted for Trump or e-mailing before the election you voted for Trump.

Oh, it was founded in good old Madison Wisconsin in 1993... which means it is a radical nutjob organization.

“CMD began primarily as a project of career far-left activists John Stauber and Sheldon Rampton...”

“Each house shall be the judge of the elections, returns, and qualifications of its own members”

Constitution of the United States, Article I, Section 5

The Republican House of Representatives can adjudicate any matter which may present itself during a federal House candidate election, such as conducting a signature verification.

The Republican House might have special masters appointed by each state Republican party (and Democratic party if it wishes to participate) adjudicate (and validate) each voter and each ballot that comes in by mail or is to be dropped into a drop box.

The adjudications would need to be done right then and there in most cases. That would require preparation.

It’s done like that in most places and the counts in hours

Mail in is supposed to be only for disabled or those with a legit reason, wasn’t it?

The race is NOT close. There are pockets of brainwashed, useful idiots, but the race is NOT close. The more they say that, the more I’m convinced they are trying to set it up for another steal.

This says the group was founded in 1983. Founded by extremists.

Essentially a collection of anti-technology communists associated with Fenton Communications, a PR smear campaign propaganda company founded by a friend of the North Vietnamese.
