Former President Donald J. Trump took to social media Sunday and offered a prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel, adding his own spiritual perspective on the struggles – past, present, and future – he continues to endure in the 2024 presidential race.
Trump shared his public invocation on X during Michaelmas, offering: “Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.”
“May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.”

We have a statue of St. Michael the Archangel at our church. In that one the body of Satan is distorted, with his belly on the ground but his face towards Michael.
As for Mr. Trump offering this prayer ... I hold it as a point in his favor.

Nothing in the Bible gives "all protestants" the authority to teach Christian doctrine to anyone.
There is nothing Biblical in them having the ability to hear or authority to answer prayer.
2 Maccabees 15 in the Catholic Bible definitely disagrees with you. If you're going to say that 2 Maccabees isn't in the Bible, you're back to explaining why "all protestants" get to decide what the canon of Scripture is. (NB that Orthodox join Catholics in accepting 2 Macc as canonical.)
But I think even Hebrews 12:1 disagrees with you. "A great cloud of witnesses" ... by definition, "witnesses" aren't unaware of what's going on.

I think Romulus was specifically addressing conflating "to pray" with "to worship". "To pray" means "to ask"; specifically, to ask in a supplicatory way, as for a favor, not to ask for information.

I think you're missing a central point. Christianity is a covenant relationship with God. A covenant makes you a member of a family; that's the definition of the thing. A family has more than just two members; God's family certainly does.
If you have ever been in the battle with the enemy clutching your throat, strangling you, cry out loudly “0h my Angel! help me now!” He will be there in one second, thrusting your enemy away! Been there done that ...God is very powerful.
Years ago in Los Angeles I think, a lady was at the bottom of a hill standing next to a car. An ice cream truck at the top of the hill lost its brakes and came hurtling down at the woman. Witnesses saw a huge angel step between her and the ice cream truck. The ice cream truck smashed into the woman and the car . The car was wrecked. The woman didn’t even get a scratch . It was in the LA newspapers.
I prayed every day that Saint Michael of the archangel and all of God’s angels protect Trump and his family and his supporters. We are truly fighting against evil.
It’s one thing to ask God to send forth his angels, but PRAYING to angels is another thing altogether. The Bible says, “Are they not all ministering spirits, sent to minister to the heirs of salvation?”. I know of no instance in the Bible where we are told to pray to an angel. We ARE given the authority to rebuke the devil, who is a fallen angel. Possibly, one could extrapolate that, to include the ability to command angels to go forth, but that’s NOT the same as praying to them. Praying both denotes and connotes an act of petition, asking for assistance of some kind, of God, based on His mercy and lovingkindness, as Creator and our Heavenly Father. As an aside, praying to saints has absolutely no biblical basis whatsoever. Incidentally, saint is just another word for redeemed believers, as evidenced by many instances in the Bible in which letters are addressed to the saints, for example, at Ephesus, etc.

Years ago in California a Latina girl was searing her 24k gold Lady of Guadalupe medal on her necklace. A drive-by shooting occured. The bullet hit her Guadalupe medal and bounced off. When the cops examined the medal they said impossible... The gold is too soft..there was only a nick on the medal. It was in the LA papers.

St. Michael is a powerful saint, in both the Catholic and Orthodox church. His power has been confirmed over the centuries. Prayers are things, and yes, they are answered. God, saints and angels protect President Donald J. Trump as he faces the toughest battles in the few next weeks. God cast confusion among his enemies and wisdom to his many followers as Donald J. Trump finishes the Lord’s Work in this world!
