Former President Donald J. Trump took to social media Sunday and offered a prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel, adding his own spiritual perspective on the struggles – past, present, and future – he continues to endure in the 2024 presidential race.
Trump shared his public invocation on X during Michaelmas, offering: “Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.”
“May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.”

The Bible forbids worship of angels, not pray, to be technical. But this is an institutionalize Catholic prayer.
This prayer is Catholic.
Behold your mother, DJT.
There are Catholic bigots on this site. Don’t let them make it all about themselves and what they believe while belittling what others believe.
Amen to that!
I regret that it doesn’t sound right I will say bigoted against Catholics.
The backstory is that they were composed by Pope Leo XIII in the late 19th century, after he had a auditory "vision" (== he heard voices, didn't see anything) that an entire century would be given over to the devil for the destruction of the Church. (Which destructive effort would ultimately fail, of course.) Some people (maybe me) think that that century started in 1917 and we're now experiencing the events that end it.
A very powerful prayer.
Thank you for posting this.
You are welcome
Praying is not worshipping. Ask a lawyer if you’re worshipping a judge when you submit a prayer to the court. Sheesh. People are so ignorant.
"Donald Trump Offers Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel"
Not only does the "delivery address" of the Lord's prayer begin with "Our Father," but angels are created beings.
Note that Revelation 22:8-9 shows that Apostle John got a "don't do it" when he bowed down to worship (ouch!) the co-servant angel who had been explaining things to him. So Trump is at least in good company with his error.
He won’t be used.
Here we go w the kkk hate the papists FR Catholic hatred
Here’s the prayer It is for the intercession through God’s power
If you ever ask your friends for prayer it is the same
St michael is the angel who helped God and humanity bey being the one who put Satan in Hell
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, BY THE POWER OF GOD thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen
Yea, sometimes people get caught up on semantics.
“Praying is not worshipping. Ask a lawyer if you’re worshipping a judge when you submit a prayer to the court. Sheesh. People are so ignorant.”
Two problems. 1 - the judge can hear you. 2 - the judge has the power to help you. Those two things are implicit in any prayer. When you’re praying to a deceased person, or an angel, you’re ascribing them that ability and authority, which is not conceded that they have.
Not conceded by whom? The saints and angels have the power that God gives them.
For your own information, go to a Catholic site, and read the exact words of the prayer.

Try reading it to find out what it says.
Whoever the person is, telling you that Catholics are worshipping the archangel, they’re full of crap.
Incidentally, Archangels are the SECOND-LOWEST rank of angels.
The classification of angels dates from the 500s or so; here’s an article from (decidedly NOT Catholic) Dallas Baptist University:
https://www.dbu.edu/mitchell/tolkien-medieval-tradition-resources/celestial-hierarchy.html
All protestants. There is nothing Biblical in them having the ability to hear or authority to answer prayer.
I know that isn’t the Catholic understanding, but it wasn’t remotely accurate to say people are “ignorant” because of it.
Romans 8:26-27 is a pretty good reference too IMHO
It goes to show how little Pres. Trump knows about prayer. I think he’s further along than he was before his first term, but to not know that you don’t pray to angels is pretty basic. Jesus is the only intercessor we need, and we can pray directly to Him and to the Father. Why pray to a ministering spirit, a messenger, when you can petition your Creator?
So do we. I say it nightly before I go to bed, along with several other prayers.
