Former President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner encouraged the United States on Saturday evening to “tell Israel to finish the job,” in the aftermath of the news that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in an airstrike.
In a post on X, Kushner described September 27 as being “the most important day in the Middle East” since the Abraham Accords, an agreement bringing peace and diplomacy between two Arab states and Israel, under the Trump administration. Kushner added people calling for a ceasefire are “wrong,” noting that Israel “cannot afford now to not finish the job” they’ve started.

The War with Hamas and Hezbollah is solely caused by the Iranian fear of the Trump created Abraham Accords.
Remember the vacant lot you saw when you peered over the fence as kid. It would be such a step towards peace if the IDF turned Gaza/Palestine into that vacant lot.
I am hopeful Israel destroys Palestine. It will remove the problem and help us win Michigan.
Exactly. Nasrallah jumped in a DeLorean, hit 88 mph and went back to the early 80s to form up Hezbollah and spent 40 yrs calling for death to Israel and then Hamas launched an attack on 7 Oct 2023 - solely b/c of Trump and the Abraham Accords.
A remarkable tweet. Like something from ages ago. Well reasoned and forward thinking. Something we don’t do anymore. kushner is more impressive than I knew. We better listen to him, and the best way to start is by putting Trump back in.
Bump
They need to go into the Bekaa valley and root them out. But pushing them out of southern Lebanon is a good first step.
Naji Ghantous (RIP friend) approves this message.
He was the architect of the Abraham Accords. He tried to make peace between the Israelis and Palestinians and came with a $50 billion regional economic development package for Palestinians, Jordan, Egypt and Israel to settle the conflict. Others were invited to join in too. He wasn’t 100% well received by the Israelis but they talked - however he was totally rebuffed by the Palestinians. Nevertheless he convinced 4 Arab countries to stop letting the Palestinian tail wag the Arab world’s dog and the Israelis and these Arab countries agreed to make peace and exchange diplomats. These Arab nations realized they needed to look after their own self interest and the Palestinian cause was not their cause - they couldn’t let the Palestinians’ dysfunction dictate their national interests.
He did a good job overall. Trump deserved the Peace Prize. The deal would have isolated Iran especially if the Saudis signed on - but the Saudis are smart and they don’t need anything but defense agreements. They don’t need our money. For whatever reasons they wanted their own separate agreement and Trump ran out of time.
Now look at the mess. Kushner is right. It’s too late to change course now. No cease fire. No diplomacy (not yet anyway). Israel needs to completely crush its enemies so that a new regional dynamic can rise like the phoenix from the ashes. War is hell. It’s terrible. But this is a war that needs to happen there can be no return to the old status quo. No more Hamas and their smuggling weapons and building tunnels and bunkers and terrorizing Israel and the Palestinians alike. No more Iranian hegemony over Lebanon. Syria needs to cut ties with Iran and join the west, or risk being overthrown by its own people. Make Iran capitulate. I’m not calling for war with Iran, though Iran can be taken out just but hitting 6-12 key targets (take out their oil refineries and oil export terminals and it will cripple their economy, take out their nuclear development sites and the rest will take care of itself - though I’m not even calling for that unless it becomes absolutely necessary - just sanction them to death and stop coddling them they have one of the worst human rights records in the world we have no business dealing with them).
But for now, push back their proxy sphere of influence and harassment of Israel (and Lebanese and Syrian and Saudi). Hamas is pretty much eradicated (though what happens after vis a vis Pali self governance is an open question) and Hezbullah needs the same treatment. Finish the job. Not us, let the Israelis handle it. Out ME policy of sucking up to Iran is foolish and reckless they deserve nothing from us but a cold shoulder and open support for the Iranian opposition.
Yes he is a smart man. He did a good job as Trump’s ME emissary.
Iran is responsible for the deaths and injury of thousands of Americans in Iraq. They trained and equipped the Shia militias that attacked us and continue to attack our bases and outposts in Iraq. The merits of our presence there is a separate question. We are there, and they kill us. They deserve nothing from us at best - and strategic strikes if necessary.
But perhaps the destruction of Hezbullah will send them reeling. I hear their “supreme leader” is hiding in a bunker. They are on the run and with their Hamas and Hezbullah proxies at the end of their existence Iran has very few options left. They have the Houthis, which the Saudis should go after - and then they have themselves. I doubt they will do much on their own their entire policy is built on using these proxies as a distraction. Once the proxies are gone, it leaves Iran totally exposed. All eyes and all weapons be pointed at them. Not to mention that their own people could rise up to overthrow them.
The War with Hamas and Hezbollah is solely caused by the Iranian fear of the Trump created Abraham Accords.

This war started 1400 years ago.
It is a pity Jared never took time during his very privileged life to serve in an infantry battalion. So typical of so many males in his generation. No time to serve his country.
Israel doesn’t need to be told anything; they’e awesome on their own.
As for me, my 8+ years in the Army was an incredible experience, casting me in leadership roles that matured me immensely. My 3 Platoon Sergeants taught me well, drawing on their experience in Vietnam. I am forever indebted to them. IMO, Walz is a stain on the Noncommissioned Officer Corps.

Gotta give you that one.
Should have said “Islam has been at war with the whole world for 1400 years”.

Absolutely
Many serve. I’m concerned about the ones that don’t. A conscripted military is able to raise standards.
