NATO plans for large-scale transport of wounded troops in case of Russia war

BERLIN, Sept 25 (Reuters) - NATO plans to coordinate the transport of a large number of wounded troops away from front lines in case of a war with Russia, potentially via hospital trains as air evacuations may not be feasible, according to a senior general. The future scenario for medical evacuations will differ from allies' experience in Afghanistan and Iraq, Lieutenant-General Alexander Sollfrank, the head of NATO's logistics command, told Reuters in an interview. In a conflict with Russia, Western militaries would likely be faced with a much larger war zone, a higher number of injured troops and at least a temporary lack of air superiority close to the front lines, the German general said. "The challenge will be to swiftly ensure high-quality care for, in the worst case, a great number of wounded," he said without specifying how many injured troops NATO would expect. The planning for medical evacuations is part of a much broader drive by NATO, prompted by Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine, to overhaul and boost its ability to deter and defend against any Russian assault….

Yup... They are so so fearful. LMFAO

Russia used to be a bear... Now it’s more like a wounded cub.

They don’t even have an aircraft carrier... There are 47 active aircraft carriers in the world... And Russia has none of them. United States has 11 bristling with armaments that could wipe out the Russian military within a matter of days.

Have you volunteered for the infantry yet? NATO needs people eager to close with and destroy the enemy.

Last time I checked, Russia still has a lot of nukes. That’s no laughing matter. For all the resources we pumped into Ukraine, they are still not winning. Also, recall that the West gave Russia assurances in the 1990s that NATO would not advanced into territory of the former Warsaw Pact (other than East Germany). We violated that promise and then some. I am not a fan of Putin, but I do think “poking-the-bear” is unnecessary and dangerous.

I also suspect that if Trump wins, Biden will hand him a full-blown war with Russia to deal with.

Yet we can’t seem to eliminate the Houthis in Yemen or the Taliban.

Which don't work anymore.

Nope....there are 20 aircraft carriers. The rest are helicopter carriers.

United States has 11 bristling with armaments that could wipe out the Russian military within a matter of days.

Pray tell....just what are those armaments the carriers are bristling with??

Methinks the Globalist establishment is all in this. A NATO-Russia war would result in a lot of dead White males aged 18-35. And, in the aftermath, they would have to “replaced” by moar immigrants from the Third World.

Convenient, eh?

They are never going to use their nukes... Putin has probably already pleaded with his command structure to do so already... And their answer is always Nyet!

Putin may be suicidal... Thankfully the Russian leadership isn’t.

You’re absolutely right. Except for the motives you cite I am at a complete loss why there should be so much talk of wwiii in Europe. With Russian military assets so severely degraded, what would they realistically hope to gain by trying to reconsider their Eastern European empire?

War planners plan for war. It's what they do. Whether it's the actual troop movements or the weapons capabilities needed in the next generation of weapons, there are a lot of people in the Pentagon making plans and estimates. I would be very disappointed if these plans and a hundred others for war against Russia, China or both simultaneously weren't prepared and being constantly revised.

Less likely wars, like the strategic bombing of Andorra were probably knocked off in an afternoon as a class exercise for some captain.

Aircraft Carriers are obsolete, both Russia and China have hypersonics ( the US has none to date) that will easily send them to the bottom. In addition, both Russia and China have supersonic torpedoes, again, the US has none.

I suggest you acquire the latest Jane’s Defense handbook and do some research. That said, both Russia and China don’t need carriers, their only purpose is to project very limited power half way across the globe- which I don’t see happening.

Snake, you do know that what was shown was a test of a new launch vehicle and it certainly had no real nuclear weapon on it. Just sayin’.
