Alabama used nitrogen gas Thursday to execute a man convicted of killing three people in back-to-back workplace shootings, the second time the method ... has been used in the country.
...
Alan Eugene Miller, 59, was pronounced dead at 6:38 p.m. local time at a south Alabama prison. Miller was convicted of killing three men — Lee Holdbrooks, Christopher Scott Yancy and Terry Jarvis — in 1999 and the state had previously attempted to execute him by lethal injection in 2022.

Thank you.
Now, if only headline writers could become familiar with the Oxford comma. That would be a real treat.
Police say that early that morning, Miller entered Ferguson Enterprises and fatally shot two co-workers: Holdbrooks, 32, and Yancy, 28. He then drove 5 miles (8 kilometers) away to Post Airgas, where he had previously worked, and shot Jarvis, 39. Trial testimony indicated that Miller was paranoid and believed his co-workers had been gossiping about him.“You’ve been spreading rumors about me,” a witness described Miller as saying before he opened fire. All three men were shot multiple times.
Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey said in a statement. “His acts were not that of insanity, but pure evil. Three families were forever changed by his heinous crimes, and I pray that they can find comfort all these years later.”
Sounds complicated. Better to keep it simple using a rope and gravity.... or if the state has some very high buildings or cliffs, just gravity.
Life imprisonment without parole would be better. The catholics are consistent on this.
Perhaps Trump as POTUS should go in this direction.
Too many lifers are set free for too many reasons. That’s the problem. The guy in El Salvador is doing the right thing. 40k MS-13’s now know what it is to live in a country that’s through with them.
Maybe, but it poses no danger to bystanders.
I favor the Firing Squad.
How about “killing three to death”?
For the migrants, the law should be Judge Dredd (2012) style.
It took me about five reads to make sense of that. I first read it that he killed them to death.
Why not helium for the amusement of all?
Nitrogen gas is very simple. Much simpler than a hanging.
Just strap a mask on the guy’s face, give him a steady flow of pure nitrogen, and he’s gone.
Nitrogen is colorless and odorless. It does not support life. It does not cause any physiological effects other than unconsciousness leading to death.
You’re breathing impure nitrogen right now.
Helium is very expensive.
Nitrogen is cheap.
The guy was enormous. Fattest man I ever saw on death row.
His weight was listed as 350lbs, but I think he was much heavier. Maybe he took some of medication that put and kept the weight on
Justice was finally served, even if it did take too long.
But the atmosphere is 79% nitrogen .. Can’t have a shortage...from scared manufactures holding back the product.
Perp gets essentially deprived of oxygen ...sad...but he did it to them, now it’s his turn to die...
I reject the idea that the taxpayers should be sentenced to life in prison.
Wait! The perp killed “3 to death”? Can a person be killed to any state other than death?
Such idiots in the news business these days.
That caught my attention, too. Isn't that redundant?
his 2 minutes of struggle were from him holding his breath.
He should have taken a deep breath and gotten it over with.
Then again it my be he was trying to delay his departure to hell for 2 minutes.
