Who is NYC Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, next mayor if Eric Adams steps down?
NY Post ^ | 09/26/2024 | David Propper

The next acting mayor of New York City — if federally indicted Eric Adams were to step down — would be Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, a lefty Democrat who is often critical of cops and once ran a failed campaign for governor.

Williams, a self-described activist-politician who began his tenure as public advocate in 2019, has held elected office since 2010 when he first served on the City Council.

The 48-year-old Brooklynite, who lives on an Army base, has pushed for numerous liberal causes during his nearly 15-year career in public service.

Tucker Carlson had some wild interviews with him when he was still working for FOX.

"I suspect he’s no more dirty than the rest of them."

After all the lawfare the Feds, NY City and State have thrown at President Trump, it's nice to see some RATS get the same treatment. He may be innocent, having trusted the wrong people, but claiming ignorance doesn't cut it. If they want him gone, he'll be gone. I worked for NY State, and saw innocent people taken out just so they could get to the one person they really wanted. It's all about politics, and a corrupt justice system...not actual justice.

Whoever they replace him with he’ll be worse. Guaranteed!

We’re quickly become South Africa.

Blacks run pretty much all the biggest cities.

I would prefer someone with name akin to something like 'Charles Morton Sheldrake', or 'Rupert Geoffrey Sanderson-Spencer III'.

New York had a Mayor like that in the 1960s - John Vliet Lindsay. As WASPy blue-blood as the come. A Yale man and family friend of GHW Bush and pappy Prescott Bush

His predecessor (Robert Wagner) was another WASP, Yale-man and liberal (who converted to Catholicism in mid-life), who granted collective bargaining status to NYC workers, and who gifted Lindsay, on his first day in office, a Transit Workers strike which shut down transport in the whole the City.

So to your point - unfortunately, these people do not cut back on overgrown leftist jungles. They compromise so they can merely sit atop them.

Agreed. You nailed it. My post was a bit "tongue in cheek". But electing another "gibs-me-dat" means no change, just a new jailer.

Why? How do you know he's not dirty?

News flash. They're all dirty. Adams is just dirty AND on the outs with the party.

But electing another "gibs-me-dat" means no change, just a new jailer.

To their credit, at least the old WASPs were genteel and polite in their public face and preferred public order. American society has so devolved over 60 years, especially in Fed.gov welfare hell-holes like NYC, to the point that these radical low IQ "gibs-me-dats" will literally burn the city down the city for their own perverse enjoyment.
