Trump criticizes Zelensky for not striking deal to end Ukraine war

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of refusing to strike a deal with Moscow to end Russia's war in Ukraine.

"We continue to give billions of dollars to a man who refuses to make a deal," Trump said at a campaign rally in North Carolina.

"So many dead people, any deal, even the worst deal, would have been better than what we have right now," the former US president said.

"You have a country that has been obliterated, not possible to be rebuilt," Trump continued, referring to the situation in Ukraine. "It will take hundreds of years to rebuild it. There's not enough money to rebuild it if the whole world got together."

Trump criticized President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for their ongoing support of Ukraine, indicating he would end US aid to the country if re-elected in the US presidential election on November 5.

"They're not going to be satisfied until they send American kids," Trump claimed, "we're not going to have our soldiers die across the ocean," he said.

One wonders how much freedom and latitude Zelensky really has

He ran for President promoting the Minsk Accords and peace in Donbas. Yet he always had the aggressive CIA-trained Azov types around him and looking over his shoulder.

Then after the SMO started, Boris Johnson, on behalf of NATO, got him to abandon the peace agreement Ukraine and Russia had negotiated in Turkey. Some radicals have threatened to kill him if he makes any concessions to Russia at all.

The only thing I would say about President Trump’s comments is that the ‘not possible’ part be changed to ‘not practically possible’ which is more accurate, IMO.

However, given the scale of the damage, rebuilding UKR is too big for the US (who would be called on to fit the larger part of the bill). That, coupled with what’s been done to us by Democrats on illegal immigration, the economy and entitlement giveaways, would finish us.

Zelensky is no angel and Putin is no demon.

I’d agree with that. My comment, however, is really on regarding what will be in terms of costs to us. At this point, whether the Zelenskyy/Putin and angel/demon thought (or vice versa) is true or not really doesn’t change the final cost.

Yup. See:

Includes link to video of Zelensky’s cringe-worthy confrontation with AZOV back in 2019. I have always wondered whether this was political theater or whether Kolomoisky (oligarch who wholly owned Zelensky and mostly owned AZOV) was playing “who’s your Daddy?” with a naive Zelensky. After the passage of time, I am decidedly leaning toward the former.

Eventually, Kolomoisky became an embarrassment to the American handlers and Zelensky stabbed him in the back, so ... the latter *might* be true. But not necessarily.

JD Vance says what we were all thinking: he BLASTS ungrateful election meddler Zelenskyy:

“I don’t appreciate Zelensky coming to this country, telling American taxpayers what to do.”

“He ought to be saying THANK YOU to American taxpayers
for the tens of billions of tax dollars they gave him.”

If Zelenskyy makes peace how can the USA start a war with Russia? We need to keep poking the bear until he attacks—then we can say we were attacked and Kamala can give her great speech, win the election and win the war in four weeks. Poland and Germany will do the heavy fighting and take the most losses—with France helping out. Shock and awe NATO air power will shatter Russia in hours. A few NATO nations will not help—Italy and Turkey. But most will follow along. As the NATO armies cut though Belarus and roll on Moscow. Tactical nukes will be deployed —then winter comes and China enters the fight....

Things are grim in Ukraine right now - much worse than most realize because the media is acting as propagandists cherrleading for the war and are simply not reporting the truth.

However, post war Ukraine is going to even more grim than war torn Ukraine is already.

Ukraine's normal economy is no longer functioning in any kind of normal fashion.

It has become an international welfare state and it's economy has been replaced by western foreign aid paying for the salaries , the healthcare and the pensions for much of the population who stayed in the Ukraine rather than fleeing. the country,

What little is left of the Ukrainian industry has been mobilized for war production and will be very difficult to re convert to civilian use in the economically strapped situation of post war Ukraine because of lack of capitol and manpower to rebuild.

The foreign countries bankrolling the war in Ukraine have blown their wad on the destruction in Ukraine and are too broke and lack public support to fund it's rebuilding.

Much of the Ukraines workforce . both skilled and unskilled, has either been killed or has fled the country.

Both Ukraine and Russia have spent the last 35 years climbing out from under crushing poverty and deprivations while rebuilding their countries out of the rubble of communism.

Both Russia and Ukraine were finally getting back on their feet when the West instigated a proxy war between Russia and Ukraine on Ukrainian soil.

When Western welfare funding that is artificially propping the countries wrecked economy is suddenly withdrawn with nothing to replace it with, there is serious risk that the entire economy will collapse

Biden’s logic for Billions to Ukraine & Gaza is such a Clown show.

April 2024

Among expenditures in the security supplemental package is more than $60 billion for support to Ukraine.

“This is directly in the United States’ national security interest,” Biden said. “If Putin triumphs in Ukraine, the next move of Russian forces could very well be a direct attack on a NATO ally.”

“That’s why we’re supporting and surging support now to Ukraine, to stop Putin from drawing the United States into a war in Europe.”

The supplemental funding also provides $9.5 billion for humanitarian assistance for civilians in Gaza, Sudan, Ukraine and other populations caught in conflict zones across the globe.

“This bill includes $1 billion for additional humanitarian aid in Gaza,” he said. “We’re going to immediately secure that aid and surge it ... including food, medical supplies [and] clean water.”

Most of the destruction is in the parts the Russians ‘liberated’. They “broke it” and they “own it”, or at least they think they do.

In Germany, a post-war reconstruction tax of about 1.5% was levied on still standing & new construction for reconstruction after WW2.

1 billion equals 1000× one million. The word billion is deceptive because the BI prefix makes it sound like 2 million. I am afraid that many in Congress and the Biden administration also think that 1 billion equals 2 million instead of 1000 million.

Trump is cutting the legs out of any negotiating position Ukraine might have had. He’s doing the same thing to Ukraine that Biden did to Afghanistan.

So? No real American gives a single F about yours and Biden's pet shithole.

We want our $200b from the neocons and industrialists - who stole it from our kids.

----------------------------

I have been very concerned that will happen.

The well connected globalist carpet bagger class is going flood the Ukraine and buy up it's assets and natural resources from it's desperate people for fractions of pennies on the dollar using money they have grifted from the billions they have skimmed off the massive influx of untraceable Ukraine aid money from the US and the EU.

Post war Ukraine could end up being worse than the hard times after the fall of communism.

The Ukrainian people could become virtual slaves in their own country to the grifter class who swoop in to buy the beat down Ukraine out from under it's people using the money the grifting war profiteers made destroying it in the first place.
