And it seems at least so far, the Taliban have behaved in terms of not making any problems outside of Afghanistan’s borders.

If only we had let the Afghan government execute Afghan opium farmers and their families, I'm sure we would have seen a big drop in opium production. /s
That said, I'm also certain that in some cases the US gov looked the other way when opium producers were bribing Afghan government officials or when suppressing opium production would have led to more attacks on US troops.

100,000 American lives are lost to illegal drugs every year. A lot of the opium comes from Afghanistan. So they are not keeping to themselves.

This is not new. It was studied in depth and proven years and years ago. There are first person eye witnesses and there is extensive documentation.
Not only are they drug dealers they are arms dealers. And they help facilitate human trafficking. They are criminals and are helping shape our new world order.
