The second presidential debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris failed to give the Democrat hopeful a “boost,” Politico’s polling experts acknowledged Monday.
Politico’s analysis runs counter to the establishment media claims Harris received a significant increase in support following the debate.
Politico’s Steven Shepard reported:
But surveys point to just a slight Harris bump, with national polls showing the Democrat’s lead has grown by about 1 percentage point since the day of the debate — even including national polls from NBC News and CBS News on Sunday giving Harris a mid-single-digit lead. Across three major polling averages, Harris’ national lead — which ranged between 1.1 and 2.5 points on Sept. 10 — is now between 2.2 and 3 points, after Sunday’s new surveys were added.
There’s also been an avalanche of battleground state data released over the past few days showing an even more modest improvement for Harris. Dive into the seven core states, and it’s clear that Harris’ lead is still remarkably small and fragile — particularly considering how pollsters have underestimated Trump in recent elections.
In all, Harris has average leads of 1 point or greater in only two battleground states. In the other five, at least one polling average shows the race within a single point.
As Breitbart News reported, five post-debate polls from last week indicated the debate benefited Trump:

But she’s now unburdened by what has been!.............
Trump was sitting at about 48% ... there wasn’t much room for the polls to move IMO
But 1% might be just enough to win, we need to take this threat seriously and get boots on the ground in the swing states
She did not get a boost, but she could have been completely sunk if Trump had used specific examples proving her lies and demonstrating his accomplishments instead of his generalities about the best of all time, etc.
I realize it was rigged against him, but I had hoped that his being prepped by Tulsi Gabbard would have encouraged him to use some verifiable specifics. I heard her interviewed about prepping Trump and she politely hinted that he was not into being prepped. He is amazing but needs a few irrefutable facts ready to fire back at false accusations and at the Dem’s dishonest statements
She was needing a bump-up with the independent voters. Just like seeking them when she selected Governor ‘Tim’. But that didn’t seem to bring in extra votes either.
If I were rigging up fake votes...I’d tell the campaign you need a lot more than five-million, and I’m charging double-the-normal-rate.
Not at all. Viewers were enthralled to learn that Harris grew up in a middle class neighborhood, and that there were lawns.
lol......cute.
Her avoidance of interviews is going to burn her.
Jack Posobiec on X said he has never known a candidate who was legitimately
“ahead” to be nagging her opponent for a 2nd debate (hoping for a possible bounce).
Trump saw through her ruse and said “no thanks.”
well if Trump is at 48% there is only 4% up for grabs if it’s tied
Debate watchers resent ABC for not being fair and transfer their resentment to Harass.
I wish Trump was more prepared for the debate. I had a feeling he was overconfident that Harris would go down that he simply could come and answer any question from the moderators.
He didn’t do bad, but considering we all knew that it was going to be 3 against 1, he should be also more prepared mentally: never allowed himself looking frustrated by them.
People tuned out that debate and undecided voters never tuned in. total waste of time.
Thanks for the link. Very interesting.
I guess she got a baby bump.
