Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Sunday will visit the Pennsylvania ammunition factory that is producing one of the most critically needed munitions for his country’s fight to fend off Russian ground forces.

He is expected to go to the Scranton Army Ammunition Plant to kick off a busy week in the United States shoring up support for Ukraine in the war, according to two U.S. officials and a third familiar with Zelenskyy’s schedule who spoke on the condition of anonymity to provide details that were not yet public.

Note the production rate of 155mm (1,300 per day) versus the previous Ukrainian usage rate (6-8,000 per day). Israel is also using 155mm at a substantial rate.

The arsenal of Democracy is under supplied.

I find it hard to believe the purpose of his trip is to visit a US military supply manufacturer.

Zelinsky is an Evil warmonger. Evil to his sexually deviant core.
He shall judge between the nations,

And they shall beat their swords into plowshares,

“They are used in howitzer systems”

Are these the same howitzer systems that Tampon Tim Walz is accused of giving the operating manual to China?

The little POS isn’t here to issue any thanks to people in Pennsylvania, he is here to meddle in our elections for twat Kamala and that stinking proxy war that is breaking the taxpayers’s backs.

At one point, Ukraine was firing between 6,000 and 8,000 of
the 155 mm shells per day, approved by the Biden Harris admin.

That rate of arms usage started to deplete US stockpiles,
endangering the safety and security of American families.

The level on hand for US defenses was not enough to sustain US military needs
if a major conventional war broke out, such as a potential conflict over Taiwan.

Something that hasn’t been mentioned for a long time but which surfaced when people were digging deep on munitions stocks is that America and presumably all of our allies have deep war stocks of weapons and munitions in deep storage that remains untouched and for a major war, and also the less deep stocks of weapons and munitions that are stored for training and global non-war emergencies and for shipments and selling to foreign countries, a more fluid, shallow stock that is currently low in some types.

The point being that there isn’t just one single level of stored weapons and munitions that can be drained down, the core level remains in place.

155mm shell stocks are not of great significance in defending Taiwan.

Taiwan has plenty of artillery, but it will not be participating in protracted artillery duels a la Ukraine. A few hours, or days at most of intense fire, on the very limited stretches of viable landing beaches. There will be, on both sides, immense forces deployed on very narrow fronts.

If it comes to an amphibious invasion the battle will turn on a few hours of intense combat on the beaches. If China succeeds in establishing a beachhead with resupply Taiwan is done for. Conversely China will have just one shot at this, it will have to throw everything into a massive invasion, holding nothing back, to swamp Taiwanese defenses.

What Taiwan really could use are lots of Patriot reloads.

Keep in mind: we taxpayers are not even close to paying for the Valhalla of
Zelensky’s mega-billion dollar scam......the “rebuilding” of war torn Ukraine.

Knowing how this guy operates....it could be said Zelensky’s secret agenda
is to invite more war damage to get his hands on even more billions later.

There are multiple sources of 155mm shells.
The US is just one. Much of Europe has also been upgrading its production capacity. Shells are also being supplied by South Korea and India, etc. On the whole it amounts to a multiple of US production at this point.

There was a Perun podcast on this subject a while back IIRC.

Its always like this. Demand (money) creates supply. Shortages are always temporary phenomena.

One of the things that Leftists are slowing learning is that the US no longer ‘builds’ weapons, but rather assembles weapons, with materials and piece parts from around the world, much of it, of course, from China. Works good while you’re on friendly (or at least neutral) terms with all of the requisite countries, not so good when you’ve pissed off many of them, as the Neocons have managed to do (while screwing up everything else).
