Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro was planning to celebrate a victory in the state with a new law allowing the sale of ready-to-drink cocktails...
The 51-year-old showed up at a Rutter's convenience store in central Pennsylvania to buy liquor after recently signing a new law expanding the sale of canned cocktails...
A local reporter in attendance observed him make his selection, Surfside Lemonade & Vodka, which is from the state.
Shapiro reportedly picked up several cases and claimed they'd be on him.
But it was not meant to be after he realized he did not have the proper identification to make the purchase....
Video shows one person jokingly asking if they were going to card him as the governor laughed....

It will be interesting to see if there will be any consequences for Rutters for dissing Josh. I sense there will be for some reason.

I moved to Pennsylvania 10 years ago. And I’d have to agree with you. It is the dumbest state in the union. I’m in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, and probably 75% of the people here are from somewhere else.

What grown man decides we need a law to card a person who is obvious over 18.

What grown man decides we need a law to card a person who is obvious over 18.Because the PLCB is an over-bearing, out-of-control agency that thinks if they do not restrict access to alcohol that the Commonwealth will become one big drunken brawl including children and animals.
Anytime the PLCB is involved in these decisions, they put massive burdens on everyone. Allowing sale of beer/wine outside of state-run stores is fairly new in Pennsylvania, so they make it extremely difficult, hoping to force citizens to endure the high prices and lousy service from the state-run stores.

You MUST check ID for alcohol, no matter how obvious it is that the person is of age.
The PA turnpike charges you a flat $15 just to hop on it. Even if you’re going 2 miles. Most expensive, never ending “under construction” highway in the country.
Gas hops about .30-.40/gal just as you cross the Ohio border.
The 2020 election. You’re right next to Ohio, you’re MORE reliant on energy production, and you let Joe Biden take the state.
You elected a Senator who just add a stroke and could barely speak.
If your school districts need more money, they just raise taxes without requiring a vote.
Grocery stores cannot sell beer. You have to go to the “beer store” or some stupid weird rule that nobody out of state can understand.
Eagles fans threw snowballs at Santa.
The Philadelphia accent.
Iron City Beer
Yueng Lueng, or Ying Ling, or whatever the heck that swill is called.
They say “yins” when they should say “yous”.
Pittsburgh Steelers fans.

A guy who is so obviously over 21, that it would take a stupid mandated law, that allows zero room for common sense, to prevent him from purchasing alcohol or tobacco. 80 year old guy in a walker comes in and grabs a six pack. Law says he MUST be carded to buy beer. That’s dumb. In Ohio they have a prompt: “does customer look over 40?” If yes, no carding necessary.
To: mmichaels1970
I’m closer to 80 than 70, and am asked for ID every single time. Tennessee.
