JERUSALEM — The complex, multistage attack that caused thousands of Hezbollah pagers and handheld radios to explode across Lebanon over the last two days appears to have been meticulously mapped out.
Israel, which rarely comments on its intelligence operations abroad, has neither claimed nor denied responsibility for the attack, which continued into a second day Wednesday as more devices exploded across Lebanon. The Israelis did not inform the United States about the specifics of the attack before it took place but told Washington afterward through intelligence channels, according to two U.S. officials. Like others in this story, they spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive matters.......
“We are at the start of a new phase in the war,” Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant told troops Wednesday at the Ramat David air base in Haifa. “The center of gravity is moving northward.”
Hezbollah began launching attacks against Israel on Oct. 8 in support of Hamas and has vowed not to stand down until a cease-fire in Gaza is reached. As ambulances raced again through the streets of Beirut on Wednesday, the militant group promised a “reckoning” for Israel.
In neighboring Arab states, already on edge after months of intensifying strikes and counterstrikes along the Israel-Lebanon border, intelligence and security officials were rattled by the latest provocation.
“We were already well up the escalatory ladder,” said one regional official. “This was a big gamble by Israel.”
Arab security services speculated that Hezbollah had discovered a problem with the beepers and that Israel faced a “use it or lose it” moment. Otherwise, the timing of the attack made little sense, several officials said.....

I have to assume that just as there were many attacks by Israel before Israel physically entered Gaza to prepare the ground, these electronic attacks are softening up Hezbollah before fighting in the North intensifies.
Hezbollah has been rattling it’s swords and Israel appears to believe a Hezbollah move was eminent. Now Hezbollah is substantially weakened.
When you think about it, it’s kinda next level thinking. The pagers blow up, forcing them to switch to their portable radios...which also then blow up. At the end of the day you have a ton of compromised comms equipment with your enemy completely unsure what else out there is also compromised. Injuries, deaths, compromised equipment and profound psychological impact to your enemies. All in all a good day’s work.

I guess it is about time to start replacing the batteries and sooner or later someone would see the explosive charges and spill the beans. That started the first wave, the pagers. Next, the other devices needed to be set off before they were checked out since the plan was now known. It was masterful.
To my mind, that is an excellent question since the US is not the only country controlled by its Deep State.
BTW, I am not sure I believe that kids were killed by the pagers. It would be just as easy for me to believe that the terrorists whacked a few kids and said, ‘Look! Killed by the Jews!’ They are that evil.

Jimmy Carter was asked why he had done something while at a Washington dinner party. He said, “Well, we know from Muhammar’s brother-in-law that xxx” Kadafi’s brother-in-law was a top Israeli source. The man was arrested that night and tortured to death. Following that incident Israel stopped providing the provenance of the information they supplied. It’s not that the CIA can’t be trusted, it’s that the people the CIA must supply information to, politicians like Nancy I-hired-a-Chinese-spy-as-my-driver Pelosi can’t be trusted.
To your question, the Israelis get information from the US. To maintain that channel, they periodically lubricate it with information of their own.
The Doolittle raid was mostly psychological. The damage from the bombs was negligible. The feeling of vulnerability to the Japanese people was the real damage. In both the Doolittle raid and the hezbollah raids the message was the same: “we know where you are and we will find you and kill you at a time of our choosing”.

My guess is that the event was scheduled for Oct. 7. However, wind of the plan got out. Better to activate it now instead of losing the element of surprise and squandering a chance for the destruction of jihadi morale.
