This is a simple theft of benefits that should have went to disadvantaged youths.

How many millions, if not billions have been stolen by these same government workers but they know how to hide their crimes better!

Calling DoE employees “educators” is the Mount Everest of misstatements.

pigs at the trough will continue to eat as long as there is food available - Government employees have the same mindset, enough is never enough.

A report by the Special Commissioner of Investigation for NY city schools indicated:
<><>the trips cost $66,000 tax dollars for 50 or so adults and kids to Disney,
<><>plus other multiple-day trips in 2016 to 2019
<><>to DC; N/Orleans; Boston; Rocking Horse Ranch Resort; and Frost Valley YMCA campground.

Call Congress.

Back in the 1980s, NYC had a jobs program for poor kids in which they can work for money during the summertime. It paid minimum wage. Slots were limited. The program still exists today.

The local news media did a story back then which revealed that quite a few ineligible well to do kids from well to do families had joined the program because they were related or connected to local politicos. Those rich kids had to be kicked off the program and replaced with actual poor kids.

The idiocy of a government funding expensive trips to Disney for “homeless” kids is best explained by those approving and planning it expecting to make family vacations of it for themselves from the start.

Why do the homeless need a Disney vacation? Spend the money on rehab, job training, clean facilities to live in. Security for these facilities to keep drugs and crime out, nutritious meals for the kids. A safe place to exercise and play. Some clean clothes for school.

They should be prosecuted either at the state or federal level. This is straight up fraud and it was done with federal funds. Of course nothing will happen because they are liberal black teacher union members.

Linda M. Wilson, Queens supervisor of DOE’s “Students in Temporary Housing”
<>took her own two daughters on tax paid trips,
<>she encouraged colleagues to take their sons, daughters and grandkids,
<>she tried to cover up the shady practice when SCI started asking questions
<>“What happens here stays with us,” Wilson allegedly told co-workers.
<>She said everyone should stick to the same story
<>"we did not take our children on the trip,”
<>She told employees to lie to the investigators.
<>One educator “had to beg Wilson to allow him to add two of his students”
<>Wilson and several staffers she supervised brought family members.

"Taking money meant for homeless students is extremely inappropriate."

It's called progressivism.

“Taking money meant for homeless students is extremely inappropriate,” said Naveed Hasan, a Manhattan public-school parent and member of the city’s Panel for Educational Policy who advocates for students in need of housing. “I’m shocked.”

Then you’re a clueless idiot.

LOL! Expected. The Media Mafia will surely come up with some kind of story to justify them doing this.

I read all the way to the end of the article and ALL of them have been fired. I wasn’t sure they were.

I’m sure lawsuits are being filed for “unfair dismissal” due to “racism.”

They thought they’d get away with it.

$$66,000 to take 50 kids (some homeless) to DISNEY WORLD????

I HAVE HEARD A LOT OF STUPID POLITICAL DECISIONS IN MY 84 YEARS-——THIS TAKES THE CAKE.

SUPERVISORS & EMPLOYEES WOULDN’T BE ABLE TO “CHEAT” IF THE IDEA DIDN’T EXIST IN THE FIRST PLACE.

NO ONE ALIVE CAN CONVINCE ME THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA FOR TAX PAYER MONEY

WE HAVE VETERANS WHO CANNOT ASSISTANCE & HOMELESS KIDS ARE BEING SENT TO DISNEY !!!!!!!!!!

JUST WHEN YOU THINK THINGS CANNOT GET ANY WORSE———

Why are we wasting money on trips to Disneyland in the first place. Couldn’t that $66K have been spent on something more educational?
