Mark Penn, a former top adviser to Bill and Hillary Clinton, called Thursday for ABC to launch a formal internal investigation into its news division's planning and execution of this week's presidential debate to determine if there was some effort at "rigging the outcome of this debate."
ABC News came under significant bipartisan criticism because its moderators fact-checked some of Donald Trump's statements but none from Kamala Harris.
Trump said Thursday that the debate was three-on-one and declined to participate in another one before the election.
Anchors David Muir and Linsey Davis moderated the first debate between Harris and Trump, which drew 67.1 million viewers, making it the most watched presidential debate since 2008. But it has drawn scorn from both Republicans and Democrats for giving the appearance of bias.
"I actually think they should do a full internal investigation, hire an outside law firm. I don't know how much of this was planned in advance," Penn told the John Solomon Reports podcast.
"I don't know what they told the Harris campaign. I think the day after, suspicion here is really quite high, and I think a review of all their internal texts and emails really should be done by an independent party to find out to what extent they were planning on, in effect, you know, fact-checking just one candidate and in effect, rigging the outcome of this debate. I think the situation demands nothing less than that," he added.

There’s a louse in the house of the mouse. Several. Many. Most.
That’s like hiring the bank robbers to find out who robbed the bank.
Alrighty, problem solved.
Better off just taking a poll. If more than 20% say it was rigged and very biased then you have your answer. ABC can’t police itself. They have already proven themselves to be corrupt.
If the rigged debate backfires the Clinton Foundation May lose its insider trading information pipeline.
Of course it was planned in advance.
How else would Muir have the report at his fingertips that he reached out to the city manager of Springfield, Ohio to debunk the pet-eating story?
How else would Davis have the report that no states have killed babies post-abortion at her fingertips?
They were waiting for Trump to bring it up and had their rebuttals ready to go.

I would state the opening line something like this:
Mark Penn, a former top adviser to Bill and Hillary Clinton, called Thursday for ABC to launch AN ALL OUT EFFORT TO DESTROY ANY DOCUMENTS WHERE KAMALA WAS GIVEN THE QUESTIONS IN ADVANCE.
And the first question was to Kamala-—Are people better off today than four years ago?
ABC wanted to make sure Kamala did not mess up her well rehearsed answer to this obvious question that would be asked.
What is this guy talking about?
A 7th grader could see this was rigged. There are facts
The moderators fact checked Trump during the debate then participated against him. They never did that to Harris
If they want to pretend Trump was wrong they can but it would be pretend.
And Harris lied numerous times
Is he saying he wants to bring a biased lawyer in to shove this further?
I imagine so
‘Mice’ done ate the evidence!
They never stopped Harris mid-sentence to say they needed to move on.

SCRIPPS news did the exact same thing in their own personal “take away” after the debate.
They are all terrified that if Trump IS elected, his AG will lead a REAL investigation into the collusion between the media and the democrats !!
Yep...
15 months from now and the result will be “we’ve investigated ourselves and have found that the highest journalistic standards were upheld”.
ABC is supposed to launch an internal probe into their own rigged debate?
This is funny. It’s like fox investigating his buddies to see who ate the chickens.
