The smart analysis of the first — and maybe only — debate of the Trump-Harris presidential cycle is that Donald Trump blew it.
The former president, winging it as usual, missed numerous “kill shots,” was frustratingly imprecise and allowed himself to be baited by Kamala Harris.
But on the optics, Harris committed far worse self-harm.
If you switched off the sound for the ABC debate Tuesday night and just watched the images, you would come away feeling deep distaste for the haughty flibbertigibbet who kept making faces while Trump was speaking.
Harris’ split-screen pantomime made her seem unserious and unlikable and was clearly designed for the sort of viral “Brat Girl” moments on social media her juvenile campaign staff imagines are vote winners. Kween!
In reality, the novelty value is short-lived and even the Taylor Swift demographic will come to see it as unbecoming.
Cool aunt, sure, but president?
Nope.
Margaret Thatcher she is not.

You have to LOVE this descriptor by Devine: the haughty flibbertigibbet
LOL...when was the last time you read "flibbertigibbet"? I'm not even sure what "flibbertigibbet" means, but that is onomatopoeia at its finest!
Seem?! She IS unserious and unlikable.
The term was used in Sound of Music, in the song, "How do you solve a problem like Maria?"
Great Googly Moogly; did he just say flibbertigibbet
Not only that, she’s ugly.
I listened to part of it while busy with something else and she sounded terrible too. That voice and her patronizing inflections were almost unbearable.
I heard Granny say “Oh, flibbertygibbet!” once in an old Warner Brothers cartoon.
Kamala could care less. She knows Democrat voter fraud is in high gear.
Pres Reagan signed into law the 1986 Uniformed and
Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA):
<><>to protect a time-honored tradition of overseas voting
<><>to enhance US citizens abroad and U.S. military members’ right to vote
<><>yet, federal law doesn’t provide clear, commonsense rules
<><>for how overseas voters register to vote
<><>or how their votes are compiled and counted.
<><>ergo, states can make their own laws — even bad ones.
But in August, we learned that Democrats have gone global, committing $300,000 to register and influence 9 million overseas voters — even though the federal government says only 2.4 million legal voters live in other countries. That’s 6.4 million votes that Democrats want to find...that don’t exist. The group financing the efforts——Democrats Abroad—— told CBS News that the ballots are likely to favor Kamala Harris.

Yes, Harris is a flibbertigibbet, a twiddler, a sillyheart!
yes - patronizing condescending mean supercilious mocking - what VDH called “Preen pose, proffered platitudes” which i would change to preen, pose, pontificate.
I call my cat a flibbertigibbet sometimes, when he’s going around, poking into things, trying to antagonize me to get my attention if I’m busy as feeding time is approaching. I tell him to “stop flibbertigibbing around.”
I always saw it to mean a silly, scatterbrained woman; wiki has it a little different:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flibbertigibbet
-Kamala Harris, 2019
How people are lining up to defend the indefensible is beyond scary. This is one very dangerous person that should be behind bars, not controlling them.
Where did she say this?
Very informative and truthful comment.

The “Taylor Swift demographic” (or a portion of it anyway) may (Lord willing) become her only supporters!
But then there are Swifties for Trump!
The nuns describe free-spirited Sister Maria as, “A flibbertigibbet! A will-o’-the wisp! A clown!” in the show tune “Maria” from the 1959 Broadway musical The Sound of Music by Rodgers and Hammerstein, and in the subsequent 1965 movie.Of course, that’s what I thought about Obama in 2008, too (and still do).
It was an interview replayed on Scripps News Network fed thru Haystacks News Stream on Wednesday. I heard and saw the whole thing. It gets as much attention as Joe Bidens Ukraine loan guarantees shakedown on live television (well, son of a bitch). It’s like they never said it. You know... like “ we select these facts over truths” -Biden. And “We’ve got the largest and most efficient vote fraud organization in modern history” -Biden. Both in 2020. “Gasoline needs to cost at least $5 a gallon in order for us to meet our energy goals” -Biden, 2008.
I can’t find any reference to it. Did no one post about it on FR at the time? It seems that the people here would have jumped all over that. (It would be useful to hear the context, too.)
