The Biden-Harris administration said Tuesday that it opposed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan to hold onto the Gaza-Egypt border — known as the Philadelphi Corridor — to ensure weapons cannot be smuggled into Gaza.
State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said in a briefing with reporters on Tuesday that the U.S. opposed any long-term Israeli presence in Gaza. He also said that Israel had agreed to a U.S. “bridging” proposal last month that would have required the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to withdraw from “densely populated areas,” which Miller said “includes the Philadelphi Corridor.”

Israel will have to learn to live without the USA, because the USA is going away.
i’d like to see Biden articulate one logical reason why IDF should not continue to secure the border between Egypt and Gaza. Besides “Hamas demands it for a cease fire” (doh - of course they do as they need weapons)
