We’re living under a flawed Constitution. Let’s start fresh and rewrite it
Los Angeles Times ^ | Aug. 23, 2024 | Erwin Chemerinsky

No matter the outcome of the November elections, it is urgent that there be a widespread recognition that American democracy is in danger and that reforms are essential. No form of government lasts forever, and it would be foolhardy to believe that the United States cannot fall prey to the forces that have ended democracies in many other countries.

Hey, LA Times! When the Lone Ranger said, “Looks like we’re surrounded, Tonto”.
He replied, “what you mean “WE”

The Constitution is not what is wrong with this country. What is wrong with this country is that at least half the sheeple are either brain dead, stupid, apathetic, ignorant, loony liberals, communist, atheist or illegal or some combination of all of these.

Erwin, Erwin, Erwin - using the term ‘democracy’ in reference to our form of government demands immediately disqualification of your opinion or thoughts on the matter.

THE END

“Really dumb idea.”

Thought about this overnight and it is actually brilliant. You are wrong. Trump won 2,437 counties, Biden only won 477. In Az Trump won every county but two. It would give fairer voting power to the rural areas to compete with the Democrat cities. They have zero right now and their vote is useless because of numbers. Rural culture is currently NOT represented at all, city cultures and values are forced on them.

Unless of course you would rather not have fairer elections and want just one or two Democrat cities in a state to the dictate the outcome for a whole state and in turn the whole country? This disenfranchises the culture and values of country folk. Their vote doesn’t even count anymore.

They keep laying the groundwork for The Great Reset.

Our governments have shown they can use authoritarian power during a crisis (Katrina, Wuhan Flu) and suspend the constitution.

Our governments have shown that they will use censorship, suppression and prison against free speech.

Our governments have shown they will restrict the press and religion during an emergency.

Our governments have shown they will suspend the second amendment during an emergency.

If they can stage a big enough crisis, like a collapse of the dollar, then the entire constitution and capitalism can be swept away.

Of course, a new “living” charter will be created and every citizen will be allowed input. They will do it online and make it feel so democratic and inclusive.

Of course, it will have already been written and whatever the people want will be irrelevant. It will empower a strong, central global government to “care for” the people in all western nations (US & EU) while turning state and local governments into extensions of this central government.

No longer will a locality have its own identity and be able to resist the dictates from above. No, that would be a problem.

Local governments will be the enforcement arm of the massive central bureaucracy.

We can look forward to a century or more of darkness living as serfs again under elitist control because only the most loyal party members will be allowed to work in the massive central bureaucracy.

We don’t need a new one - simply follow the old one.

A government concerned with liberty will always be flawed in the respect it is primarily attempting to balance two frequently uncontrollable forces.

“In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, . . . you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place to oblige it to control itself” (Madison - Federalist 51).

Our Constitution comes as close to achieving this as any form of governance is likely to come. That's why it must be defended at all costs.

What shall we base it on>

Base it on the Russian Constitution, that way it can be changed at the Congressional level, whenever the need arises or “times change”.

“The problem is not that the Constitution is flawed; but rather, that it’s neither observed, nor enforced.”

Yes!

DC is run by LAWYERS.. who, these days, don’t study law to LEARN our law and use it appropriately… they study it in order to learn how to bend it and go around it.. - THAT is what they call a “smart” lawyer nowadays..

So, of course - when your government is loaded with such “lawyers”, that is exactly what they’re gonna do with the “Law of the Land”.. and we’re reaching the tipping point because of it. You can’t abuse something forever…

the Constitution is fine.

the problem is the lack of LAW ENFORCEMENT.

Almost ALL of the problems are due to the left...

as their plan since the 60s has been to overthrow the Constitution by degrading society and push America into their commie nightmare.

of course, this is sedition... just very slow.

i suggest enforcing the laws by charging the left with sedition and proceed from there.

They are free to try to change it through the rules that have been established.

Good luck with that.
