Legendary NFL quarterback turned FOX broadcaster Terry Bradshaw officially switched political parties a couple of years ago.
Bradshaw, a Hall of Fame quarterback with the Pittsburgh Steelers, hasn't shied away from voicing his opinion on controversial topics over the years. The former Steelers great turned NFL broadcaster admitted to switching political parties back in 2020.
He was formerly a registered Republican. However, he's since switched to being a registered independent.
"I've been a Republican, but now I'm a registered independent. I don't want to alienate anyone, and the minute you say, “I'm a Democrat” or “I'm Republican,” you're kicking off the other side. I want the best person [in the White House], and I'll pick the one who's most like the way I feel," he told bjtonline in 2020.
NFL fans were quick to react.
"Talk about understanding rights and freedom--I don't think Terry Bradshaw understands them himself. Apparently, he thinks everyone should have the freedom to speak out except for Donald trump. Terry is not a very smart man," one fan wrote.
"He's going to vote BLUE!!!" one fan added.
"Bradshaw needs to keep his political opinion to his self, I can see why people turn on the heroes from the past, they open up what they truly think and lose more than half their fans," one fan added.
"So I guess Terry had one too many concussions," one fan added.
Bradshaw and the NFL on FOX crew aren't afraid to speak out on social or political issues, either.
"This is America. If our country stands for anything, folks, it's freedom. People died for that freedom. I'm not sure if our President understands those rights. That every American has the right to speak out also to protest. Believe me, these athletes do love our this great country of ours.
Personally, I think our President should concentrate on North Korea and healthcare rather than ripping into athletes and the NFL," he said in 2017.
Will we hear Bradshaw speaking out in 2024?
I really didn’t need to know this.
I never liked Terry Bradshaw.
he’s an over the hill sports announcer. I watch the game. His politics are not important.
Bradshaw has always struck me as a dim bulb.
He’s a private citizen, he can vote as he pleases. I don’t look to Terry for that kind of guidance.
He owes me nothing.
In a similar vein I didn’t need to see his bare posterior while unassumingly watching Failure to Launch. If you’ve never seen it you have been warned.
Nor do I.
I think it is the metal plate in his head.
One of his wives was a gal from my high school. A couple kids and then off to the races.
It’s not Bradshaw talking, it’s the Prozac.
He’s in the business of attracting viewers. He can’t do it as a republican.
Since he can’t shut up he’s doing the right thing.
Cowboys linebacker Hollywood Henderson famously said that Bradshaw was “so dumb, he couldn’t spell cat if you spotted him a C and an A.”
Chicken Chit.
I really don’t care about what Bradshaw does. It is his business.
There are two reasons I’m still a registered pubbie. In my state you can’t work the polls unless you’re registered D or R. No independents allowed nosing around.
In their next primaries, Thomas Massie and Rand Paul will be the targets of a massive, million dollar primary assault by AIPAC. I’m a broken glass voter for both those guys.
I was a registered Republican for over 40 years until January 6th, when I changed to “no party.” I cannot in good conscience belong to a party that does not respect me enough to even want to try to protect my ballot from voter fraud.
This does not impact my life at all.
From the man who couldn’t spell CAT if tou spotted him a C & T
Or spell you wih spell check...
