Reagan Constructs a Dangerous, Evangelical Mythology

In this sense, Ronald must be shown making bedroom eyes at Nancy (Penelope Ann Miller) after she professes how important family is to her, if only to show that Reagan’s countless presidential addresses are entirely rooted in truth—that he really did wholeheartedly believe that the responsibility for society’s welfare rested on individual families (and not on the embedded liberal governmental policies of Franklin D. Roosevelt and Lyndon B. Johnson). Forget about the rest of Reagan’s lasting legacy—his neglect of the AIDS epidemic, his jingoistic foreign policy, his trickle-down economics, and so on. By Reagan’s logic, anyone adversely affected by these weren’t saintly the way Reagan was; if someone suffered from his moral policies, it’s only indicative of their profound moral failings

These people hate you just as much as they hate Trump. On a side note, I find it funny how Google keeps putting these left-wing websites into my newsfeed even though I keep asking them to be hidden. What I mean is that I won't get anything more from Paste but they will then include some other left-wing websites.

So camel hockey Hafsah Abbasi doesn’t like Reagan. Was it even alive or in America when Reagan had his amazing presidency?

that he really did wholeheartedly believe that the responsibility for society’s welfare rested on individual families (and not on the embedded liberal governmental policies of Franklin D. Roosevelt and Lyndon B. Johnson)Yes, he did. As do I. As did Marvin Olasky in his 1990s work that Newt Gingrich used to quote, The Tragedy of American Compassion. As did de Tocqueville in the 1830s when he praised America for its "voluntary associations."
You see, Mr. Paste, there is something uniquely American about letting the people take care of the people in an Aristotelian manner, rather than forcing people to sacrifice for the supposed common good in a Platonic manner, which always devolves into feudalism or socialism. And Reagan figured that out, which is why he stopped being a Democrat, just as I figured that out, which is why I stopped being a Democrat at about the same time.

Guess what, paste, the responsibility for society’s welfare does rest on individual families.

Hey, I’m all over what a muzzie like Hafsah Abbasi might want to lecture me regarding.
I’m sure this across-the-ocean puke has a LOT to inform me on regarding one of the best Presidents we have ever been blessed with.
GFY Hafsah. Good and hard!

"Reagan Constructs a Dangerous, Evangelical Mythology" I have read that obama "loved" Reagan. Maybe that is why obama was inspired to introduce trickle-up poverty.

Not really. I hear Trump supporters bashing him, and saying he’s a neocon.

I hear Trump supporters bashing him, and saying he’s a neocon.I don't. But I do hear them saying that "Reaganism" isn't the answer to today's problems. I've said that myself.

I’ve heard it even on here. There’s no such thing as Reaganism.

Now, the philosophy is, if Republicans stay 5% to the right of Democrats, everything will work out.
That was first devised by Arnold Schwarzenegger, but no one gives him credit now.

What I mean is that I won't get anything more from Paste but they will then include some other left-wing websites. And now Google, as with all but one search engine I tried, limits results to just 10 per page (+ no more able to change it) , with its usual bias, thus fostering the latter and ignorance.
