Hello cotton and everybody.
Can’t believe it’s taking me this long to get to you all.
Few weeks ago my cell service was at same crappy self and then it got even worse.
I can rarely get onto the Internet. I can get on Facebook, which is the Internet now and then I can sometimes do a messaging calls hardly ever go through or if they do they break off . If I try to get onto duck duck , Safari or other sites says get no connection The mysteries of the Internet
so I’m out on a rare time for hearing aid Correction because I got a new cell phone and my hearing aids did not automatically connect. So I’m here in the parking lot for a few minutes. With my son situation I’m on a pretty short leash. I will have a few times I’m going be gone for a few more hours now n then like Wednesday I have an ophthalmology appointment in Charlotte about an hour and a half away and an hour in the appointment and then probably will meet my cousin for lunch for another hour so that’s gonna be the longest I’ve been away
All is about the same w son in much pain and stubborn and we’ve had the
“you know you’re gonna die If you don’t get this taken care of “
we had that conversation and I know he’s just pretty lonely and discouraged and when you’re like that and a great deal of pain , everything is magnified.
Still puttering in the kitchen still puttering in the dirt. My vegetable experiment was really not good. My herbs turned out well and potatoes, onions and garlic, but nothing else diddly
I’m checking into various Wi-Fi and Internet bundling packages. Many of the places won’t even come out to our area AT&T and Verizon for example for Wi-Fi or to remote it’s probably not gonna be in the budget and I’m trying to be very cautious ahead because I rarely will use the Internet cable connection for television and programming. I’ll use the Internet of course and be glad to have a connection but was my son scenario. I am not sure how long he’ll be with us, it’s a tenuous situation. The there’s the financial consideration
Have not had my TV on since last October. I did watch a little bit well visiting with cotton several months ago. But I decided since I couldn’t get on the Internet and my Garden was puking out and my son wasn’t eating very much so the kitchen didn’t track me. I went back to the movies. Plugged in my TV plugged in the Blu-ray change the batteries in the remote and, watched some movies (Star Wars quite a few times ) episodes 1-6 primarily
Who here is a Trekkie?
Star Wars Warrior?
Both?
None?
One thing I did make for myself and didn’t make it for years was Shakshuka will put my recipe at end of thread. It’s basically poached eggs in a tomato based heavy broth/ thin sauce. I made 1/4 recipe. I went heavier w/cheese. It sounds weird but it’s tasty. There are many variations. This is one I developed using/combining many recipes. I believe it’s a Jewish recipew on
Hope you’re all doing well. Like I say just leaving the parking lot.
I’m gonna stop by the GOP campaign office and pick up a couple signs love y’all. I’m still kicking and hobbling along.
CULINARY CORNER
Shakshuka
-I jar Rao’s marinara
-1/2 jar veggie broth
-2 minced garlic cloves
-1/2 fine chop small onion
-1 teaspoon mince sweet chili
-1 teaspoon cumin
-2 Tablespoons AVOO
-4 large eggs
-1/2 c crumbled feta
-1 Tablespoon fresh chop dill
Preheat oven at 400°F.
In a heavy, ovenproof skillet, heat olive oil and add onions; cook until lightly golden in color. Stir in garlic and chili, cook for about 2 minutes, then add the spices, Cook for another 2 minutes, then add Roas and veggie broth and simmer for about minute. Stir in the crumbled feta.
Crack the eggs on top of the tomato sauce then transfer skillet to oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes or until the eggs are cooked to your preferred consistency. (I like mine runny so 15 minutes will do.)
Sprinkle dill over the shakshuka then serve directly from the skillet with bread alongside for dipping.
I’ll try tonight to get on FR on back deck. Maybe the Internet Gods will smile on me
Normally they laugh at me …”no Internet for you girlie”
Thank you for posting. Life can be incredibly tough and never fair. But I do believe prayer is heard. And you have my prayers as do all freepers and our nation. God Bless.
Good to hear from you. Take Care.
is that “trekkie” ? or “trekker?”
glad you are ok...wish i could help ease your burden...
Hi Dolly....
Hope you’re able to get some better connection soon!
Your poor son....has he made any improvement at all? Has he been back to see the doctor? I hope he’s still not drinking, although it would be pretty tempting. Does he have any friends, buddies from work, relatives that drop in to see him?
I think of him often and hope he turns things around. God be with him.
Hi Dear Dolli.
If you have a Moto G or an Android, Google my be exclusing other search engines.
I don’t know what to say regarding getting Wi-Fi in a remote location though.
I still have a Flip Phone because i am so disgusted with cell service.
(((HUGS)))
I see lots of signs here (rural) for “cheap” internet. I guess companies get grants, etc, to provide internet service to areas that don’t have it consistently.
I don’t suppose you’ve seen those signs?
Could be NC is considered too upscale. I know the scenery/houses get much nicer when crossing state lines
