Am I The Only One – Aaron Lewis
I understand how you feel, Dolly.
I saw a clip of some people driving into their damaged property for the first time and they were so happy to see that their one donkey, sheep and pig who share a big fenced area had survived Helene. Trees down, water everywhere, place was a mess, but the animals had weathered the storm. They were more like pets, because they got all excited to see their owners return. The owners were delighted to see their animals. It was heartwarming, because those people had no choice but to leave those animals.
Leaving animals tied up so they had no chance is another story. Poor things.

The local response to help the stranded kind of reminds me of the fight against British rule
. The locals are not as helpless as we have been led to believe
Better watch out Globalists, things may backfire
An amazing article. Before the truth that I posted below is a detailed history of the enemy and its goals and motivations. But not so detailed that it is tedious, it’s a quick read.
Di Leo: October 7 - When the Enemy Showed Its Colors
https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/4269541/posts
Israel has revealed truths that the world had never before acknowledged and was now forced to confront:
Israel has shown that foreign “humanitarian” donations to terrorists will always be spent on instruments of war; that it is a fool’s conceit to imagine that terrorists can be trusted to “take off their terrorist hat” when receiving humanitarian aid (as the west deluded itself into believing they could), and honorably spend those billions on food and shelter, education and commercial investment for the noncombatants under their care.
Israel has shown how so many global relief organizations – especially the many “humanitarian” offshoots of the United Nations – are in fact largely allied with bloodthirsty terrorists rather than with the innocent refugees they are supposed to assist.
Israel has shown how corrupt much of the global news media are, both in demonstrating the clear collaboration between many reporters and the terrorist organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah, and also in the exposure of clear newsroom bias, as newspapers give the benefit of the doubt to the terrorists in terms of headlines and stories, even trusting their sources (such as the ridiculous stats made up by the Hamas health agency), while slamming Israel for every necessary response as if Israel had started all this. Even the blind can see through these double standards.
And oh, how Israel has exposed our politicians.
In the year since October 7, 2023, Israel has responded with the decisiveness and sheer force necessary to protect its people in the future. In so doing, Israel has done a great favor to the West, because their battle is our battle too.
Iran and its many client state and nonstate actors are just concentrating on Israel first, after all; they have every intention of taking on the United States next.
Everything Israel has done this past year to fight the Enemy has been a service to the entire civilized world. May Divine Providence continue to bless Israel and its allies, that future years are able to finally be safer, more peaceful, more prosperous than this past one has been.
Apology accepted.
I can only imagine how stressful this all is on you.

The response here has been an eye-opener, even to me and I thought I knew these people.
There’s a lady that post a local group and puts in various information to help people, such as how to apply to fema. Boy did she get a backlash for that one! She threatens to shut down all of her post if they become political, and they are political from the very beginning. Even if people have the facts wrong at times, they do have enthusiasm against big government. And anger and hostility. And they don’t want to be corrected to be told that the government is the answer.
Just last night someone posted that we have a lot of downed wood. If we could just get a sawmill and trucks to move the logs and lumber, we could start rebuilding people’s houses and wouldn’t need to wait for insurance or fema. It was a long thread, lots of people mentioning sawmills that might be able to volunteer their equipment, lots of people volunteering their time. I don’t know if this could ever be organized enough to work, but pretty impressive that this is their first thought on getting people’s homes back in order.
I agree dolly, my first thought about Milton and the evacuating is that I hope they are taking their animals. Anything else is unmentionable cruelty.
Nobody said take the cat but leave the kindergartener. In California we had earthquake preparedness classes often on the base I worked at. You could have a bug out bag for your animal just as well as your child. And plans for how to get them out.
You don’t bond to animals the way me and Dolly do. And Ms.B, etc, so many of us. In my opinion, each one has a little spirit in there that God has given them, and those of us that are patient and look for it get to feel it, it’s a little connection back to God. Same with children, but more subtle and many miss it. Call me crazy, I’ll take it, lol!!!
Nice!!
So many good articles this morning, thank you for posting the links so we can easily get to them.
I got to thinking about the flooded victims voting. If they went to polling places to vote in their states, someone could still bring in the ballots and set up a place to vote.
But in the states like mine where it is ALL mail in and we were to be devasted like they were, there would be no houses to MAIL the ballots to. :-(
How I wish our state would go back to one day voting and in person.
PS. I was just referring to the domestic pets, I guess I was thinking of Cadbury and Sable and Cooper. I couldn’t imagine leaving them behind and feeling okay about that. All the big animals, feral animals, wild animals, poor things - there’s little options there. I don’t even know how you would leave food or water or shelter for them, given whatever the emergency is. It does sound like some farm animals are pretty smart and can figure out how to survive.
Oh I agree when it comes to any animal that you actually could take with you. If it’s small enough to take, then it would be horrible to leave it behind. I guess chickens I’d leave behind....but I’d turn them loose so they could run for cover.
I didn’t think anyone said to leave any children. I was just saying that if push came to shove, and you could only take so many with you, people come first. Sorry, thought that was obvious.
I’m wondering if all of the fallout from these storms are going to be the excuse the dems use to try and postpone or cancel the election. I wouldn’t put it past them.
Gee, I saw something on X about the cars being stuck on the roads heading out of the storm area. Someone was saying that they’re not moving much, and if they run out of gas or electric, they’re stuck there. That’s a heck of a scary thought!
So, as I was sitting here knitting, I thought about a hypothetical situation and wondered what was the right thing to do.
If someone is in the position to save either a wonderful, loyal pet, or a rather vile and unkind human being, what do we do? I’m thinking that the human must be saved before the pet, as difficult as that may seem.
Thoughts?
This guy is way in the lead to be our next Prime Minister, and he’s tacking more and more to the right side of things every day. He’s the apple-crunching guy who chewed up the fake news reporter more thoroughly than he did the apple. Loved this response. Sadly, we still have another year to endure under Turdeau.

What are you knitting, more sweaters?
I know what I would do, good vs evil. I think evil should never win.
Seems to be winning in our country though. Such horrible times. I hope it all changes in another month!!
