Ukraine was given approval by the Netherlands on Thursday to use its F-16 fighter jets to strike deep inside Russian territory.
The American-made F-16 is an iconic fighter jet that’s been the front-line combat plane of choice for the NATO alliance and numerous air forces around the world for 50 years.
Newsweek reports permission to use Western weapons on Russian soil is a key sticking among some of Ukraine’s supporters, with Kyiv claiming this could turn the tide in the conflict.
The statements from the Netherlands indicate Ukraine’s other allies may soon follow suit, loosening restrictions on its activities deeper within Russia.

I believe recent official news is that Ukraine used Patriot missiles to shoot down a Ukrainian F-16. These buffoons should not be given big boy toys.
Two things I can’t stand: People who don’t tolerate other cultures, and the Dutch!
But they have to get past the Patriot batteries in Ukraine first......

Holland, like SO MANY Governments, don’t pay attention to what the DUTCH people want...they are just fixed upon getting another armed conflict flaring so their countries can be burned and destroyed.
Holland declaring war on Russia. The arrogance is incredible that they are certain they can pretend innocence and will not have any consequences. Their plan will probably go well… until it doesn’t.
Assuming the Ukrainian Pilots can manage that, they would then fly into Russian S-400 ADF systems, something tells me the F-16s won’t be going on too many missions deep into Russian Territory.
Basically it’s NATO conducting deep strikes into Russia.

Considering Ukraine only has about a dozen trained pilots ( less after Russian attacks on Uke airbases this week) …this is a token gesture but a highly escalatory offensive act likely to feature NATO pilots on “ contract “ to Ukraine.

It seems Ukraine’s own air defense system is incapable of managing integration. Reports are they shot down their own F-16 and killed the pilot during a Russian attack on his airfield.

Does the US still deploy F-16s here in an active military role or are our all retired and stored?
If stored, how many of all types of F-16s do we have “stored” and retired that could all be given to the ukes along with the means to hire whoever is qualified to fly them?
For a country (USA) THAT SAID WE WERE BEHIND Ukraine “ALL THE WAY!” to win over there no matter what, we sure parcel out our support slowly and in such a plodding manner and with restrictions on use that it helps little, yet still costs us enormous amount of money.
