Foot Locker announced Wednesday the sneaker retailer will move its headquarters from New York City to Florida to escape the Empire State’s high costs.

“To better support our strategic progress, to increase team member collaboration, as well as ongoing expense discipline, we made the decision to relocate our headquarters to St. Petersburg, Fla.,” CEO Mary Dillon said in a statement.

The company said it would maintain only a limited presence in the city moving forward.

Its sister brand, Champs, was previously headquartered in St. Petersburg.

The move is expected to be completed by late 2025.

Foot Locker sells shoes? I thought they supplied the lockable containers used by the military to provide a place for the service members to keep their personal grooming effects.

Did you know you can keep 98 cans of beer in 12-ounce cans in the top tray of one of these military foot lockers?

FL should close the NYC and other high-crime area stores also.

In the early '80s I drove out with the Chicago Debating Society to be a judge in an APDA Debate Tournament at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. Long car ride. We get to Northampton, and after dropping our bags off at the dorm, we go out to get dinner. The problem is that Northampton was upscale woke before anyoneknew what woke was. No Denny's, IHOP, or even McDonald's. Everything was variations of "Bean Sprout Hut". Then, I spotted a Woolworth's! Oh to have a BLT and fries with orange bug juice at the lunch counter! Unfortunately, I was outvoted, and we wound up eating at Bean Sprout Hut.

P.S. You'd think there would be fun to have for a car full of guys at an all-girls college. Nope.
