Ukraine’s Russia offensive is risky. To get a boost, it wants less US caution on weapons

Ukraine’s daring ground offensive has taken the fight to Russia, but not nearly as much as its leaders would like because, they say, the United States won’t let them.

The U.S. restricts the use of long-range ballistic missiles it provides to Ukraine, which wants to aim them at military targets inside Russia. Ukraine’s offensive, along with a barrage of drones and missiles that Moscow launched this week, has intensified pressure on the Biden administration to ease its cautious approach to the use of Western weapons in escalating Ukrainian attacks.

The Biden administration says its careful deliberations, including which advanced weapons it supplies to Ukraine and when, are necessary to avoid provoking retaliation from Russian President Vladimir Putin. Some analysts agree Putin would take a Ukrainian strike by an American long-range ballistic missile within Russia as an attack by the U.S. itself.

Zelensky is a loose cannon. Literally speaking. His days are numbered so he will take people down with him.

“Ukraine’s daring ground offensive has taken the fight to Russia,…”
————————-

Suicidal offensive is more apt. Anyone closely watching this war is constantly amazed at the Ukie’s determined march to “ the last Ukrainian “…..and the collective West’s desire and willingness to see it happen.

What does the collective West gain by a destroyed, rump nation of Ukraine? Sinister forces are at work.

Imagine if the rules were the same during WWII.

The Germans would be allowed to bomb Europeans citizens from the air, but the allies would be forbidden to strike inside Germany. We would all be speaking German right now.

Ukraine is not our ally.

Are you not able to discern the difference?

Are you not able to discern the difference?

Do countries need to state specifically and in no uncertain terms that, they are allied with the U.S.?

Ukraine is the ally of the Europeans and of the U.S. in the war against Russia. Or, more correctly, we are acting as Ukraine's ally in the fight to repel the Russians from Ukrainian territory.

The word 'ally' has you fooled.

“Do countries need to state specifically and in no uncertain terms that, they are allied with the U.S.? “

No, that’s irrelevant.

However, it does require a formal, legal declaration by the US. And that requires a treaty.

What has Russia done after Ukraine kicked them out of country after they invaded in February of 2022? Lost control of the Black Sea, Lost all of their original ground forces, replaced their military leaders several times, and been invaded by Ukraine. And you think that Ukraine is losing? No one believes you.

Anyone who believes that Zelenskyy undertook the Russian invasion without US approval and assistance is delusional.

The whole war is a proxy war. Our regime gives him the greenlight when it serves them to do so.

Unfortunately it is YOU that has very few that believe you. You need to pay attention because Ukraine has won nothing and Russia will expel them when they decide from the Kursk area.

A formal and legal declaration?

Bull!

We have friends who are in effect allies with the U.S. and where no formality was used to declare them as allies.

Again, the word 'ally' has you fooled.

Is there a method within the law for designating as 'enemy' any country? Nope. But, there are enemies, declared and undeclared. Same with 'allies'.

Zelensky can’t take a shit without US approval. Does anyone doubt that the US is giving Ukraine real time intelligence for the Russian incursion? Our satellites are providing the intel they need to operate on the battlefield.

Ukraine is losing more ground than it is gaining in Russia.

Note the word tactical. Ukraine has captured a bunch of farmland.

Of course they are. Doesn’t mean Zelensky can’t go rogue though if he thinks he has nothing to lose.

We have no treaty obligations to defend the sovereignty of Ukraine. We are blurring the lines between obligations under NATO and our responsibility to defend Ukraine.

Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014 and annexed Crimea. It was the response to the US/EU support of a coup against the duly elected government of Ukraine. This spawned the separatist movement in the Donbass and the first Russian invasion. What did the Obama/Biden Administration do in response? Butkus.

This 10 year old proxy war must end. We can’t afford these endless wars. The US/NATO have already spent $400 billion in support of Ukraine, which was one of the most corrupt countries in Europe. Zelensky has suspended elections, jailed opponents, silenced the opposition press, and outlawed the Orthodox Church. So much for defending democracy.

Military targets in Russia?

Forget that, let Ukraine pound historical and heavily populated areas in Moscow (with US made stuff) and then see what happens.
