Omsk oil refinery is responsible for 10% of Russia's gasoline output. And it just exploded, along with many other refineries' troubles. Putting two and two together - gasoline shortages are expected.

Refineries are a home run. Russia produces lots of oil, which is important for the global economy, but it has a major bottleneck of refined petroleum products, used almost entirely domestically. And they can’t see to keep their poor refineries from exploding. Very unfortunate situation for Mr. Putin.
Tom Clancy in probably Red Storm Rising I think said that the Russians tend to like to build “one big thing” like an enormous battery factory, tire production place, submarine and ship factory and so on. Problem was what if that got blown up or had a big fire?
Still a bad idea to centralize so much.
Ours don’t usually explode, but they do go off line and cause price increases.
Ours don’t usually explode, but they do go off line and cause price increases.>>> Sometimes they do. My dad lost a friend from the Philly Gulf fire. HE worked at Atlantic. All hands on deck and get the philly fire department very far away. They did not know how to fight the refinery fires.
Putin’s jihadi warlord Mr. Kadyrov does seem to have gotten his hands on one Tesla CyberTruck so he’s got a head start!
In possibly related news, Ukraine celebrated a successful launch of its first indigenous ballistic missile...

Yes, it’s the all new Palianytsia “drone missile”. Actually it seems like a kind of ballistic missle...
This could be a game changer for Ukraine.
Omsk in the middle of Siberia?
2500 miles from free Ukraine 😉
Beautiful!
Yes ... very suspicious ...
Makes people wonder, will Russia retaliate against the USA? NATO or perhaps Ukraine... hardliners in Russia could use this to justify retaliation and escalation.

Indeed... Thus, Keiv can start planning the destruction of Moscow’s electrical production plants.
Since Moscow has targeted Ukraine power infrastructure with zero qualms, this gives a full blown green light for Ukraine to do the same to Moscow. It’s open season!
Putin started it and unfortunately for him :
Action = Reaction!

The only thing Russia can do is retaliating against Ukraine’s retaliations, etc... etc...
WHich Russia did yesterday, with a massive missile attack against electrical facilities all over Ukraine, including Kiev. Bad and unsmart Kremlin move!
Because that gives Kiev the perfect excuse and the moral high ground to now start targeting Moscow’s electrical power structure as well.
I bet the destruction of Omsk Oil Refinery wasn’t a part of Russia’s worst case scenario. That was probably NATO fighting them to a standstill in short order, and NATO entering the fight was considered a very unlikely outcome.
Libya supposedly was shutting down its oilfields this week. Rumormill
