I remember having a few drinks with co workers after work in Denver. Then one night the bean counters showed up to join us, they each threw in $1 in the pot, had a couple of adult beverages, and left. Bean counters are cheap bastards. We never let them join our group afterwards.
Fast forward to another time/company. We’d hire all these young engineers and scientists. They would go out after work and have a few rounds. One night I joined them (I was no longer drinking at this point in life). I had 1 coke, and when I finished it, I said, “You know, if I’d only invested the beer money.” and I left. I’m retired now for over 15 years. One night, a couple of months ago, one of the engineers called me out of the blue and said, “Thanks.” He had retired early.
Stuck up there for months. I would be getting terminally bored. The food must be boring. You cannot get proper exercise.

Doing the job NASA was supposed to be doing with our tax dollars. There are 11 docking stations on ISS but for some reason they can only use 8. Perhaps the other 3 are for supplies or they are lacking maintenance. Why can’t we use one of the 8... oh, yeah, because NASA only has one spacecraft and it isn’t up to garbage can status.

Why did NASA suddenly need to send Ken and Barbie up there so quickly right after someone up there was sick and quarantined? How did the guy get sick or were they playing with Gates/Fauci stuff they shouldn’t have? (Aww, everyone group hug with Fauxi in the hospital, y’all.)
Whatever the “scheduled” mission was, it could have waited until repairs had been made but nooo. Why are they making such a big deal out of this when astronauts have stayed longer than a year and no one had a hissy fit. Why not have Russia, China, Canada or the EU send up a working space craft? Oh, yeah, the US government never teamed up with Russia before they teamed up with China against us. Not that little ol’ nobody me hasn’t been yelling from the rooftop to do so but now we not only have some astronauts stranded but WWIII is around the corner.
So, what about Japan pulling our backside out of the fire? Hmm, so Canada and the EU don’t have craft (?) so a lot of good that does. So, as with everything, call Elon. But, oops, his door is too small for their suits so now we have to get new suits to them and that might be next February.
If something happens tomorrow, how in blazes will the 7 aboard ever getting home? Maybe NASA could send up some hot air balloons.

I saw a shuttle at Dyess AFB back in the 80s. It was piggy backed on another plane and much smaller than I’d ever thought. It was scorched and had tiles (?) missing so a very sad looking thing.

As of late, all JetBlue flights I’ve taken were on Airbuses, not Boeing. Used to be, if it’s not Boeing, I’m not going. Now, I feel safer on an Airbus flight, unfortunately.

There have been two resupply missions since 05JUN2024, two more are planned in 2024. The idea that they’re going to run out of food is ridiculous; people here need to quit being ignorant jackasses.
