Nonfarm payroll growth revised down by 818,000, Labor Department says

The U.S. economy created 818,000 fewer jobs than originally reported in the 12-month period through March 2024, the Labor Department reported Wednesday.

As part of its preliminary annual benchmark revisions to the nonfarm payroll numbers, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said the actual job growth was nearly 30% less than the initially reported 2.9 million from April 2023 through March of the following year.

Anyone who has been following Danielle DiMartino Booth knows the jobs report has had to be revised every quarter for the past year, and this was not unexpected.

As these nonexistent jobs are factored into figuring GDP, GDP will eventually have to be revised downward. Oopsie.

The way our economy is headed, one would think the Dims would want to lose this election rather than be in charge when all their chickens come home to roost. But they do *appear* to be trying to win. Is it just for appearances’ sake, or are they truly trying?

Many believe Biden endorsing Kamala was a big FU to the Democrat party, maybe this is another. The revision couldn’t come at a worse time for Kamala and the democrats, right before the most important speech of her life, and provides horrible optics for the party.

I, too, but after listening to his conversation with Elon Musk on X, it seems he knows better than to go that route.

There is no doubt Trump would handle it far, far better than the Dims. The Dims obviously want to double down and make it worse, worse, worse. I hope and pray enough voters very can see that.
