Billionaire Elon Musk has suggested he will step up to the mark if appointed to a White House role by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Trump said yesterday if he is elected president in November he would be open to naming the Tesla CEO to a cabinet or advisory role.
'He's a very smart guy. I certainly would, if he would do it, I certainly would. He's a brilliant guy,' Trump said in an interview with Reuters.
Musk responded to the comments on X today with just five words: 'I am willing to serve.'

Trump needs the Independents votes. Musk and RFK on his team will get it done.
We get a prize with Elon...His mind does circles around everyone else. And...I’d trust him with my life.
I take a back seat to no one in my admiration for Elon Musk, but his company is a major government contractor, and having him in the Trump administration would be a source of endless drama and legal attacks from the Democrat MSM.
Put him in charge of making government 100% more efficient.
I think he said when he was a kid, he thought everyone did this...he was alone with his super charged brain.
He's got a heart of gold...like Trump.
Democratics hardest hit. Wtg Elon and thank you!
Consultant / Advisor, not full-time.
Elon could go a long way toward eliminating overstaffing in government. I would love to see it
Whenever I really want to piss off a Liberal a mention that Elon is my favorite African American.
Not just over staffing (cut 50% of the workforce) but procurement.
Put him in charge of NASA. Then he can fire all the useless dead weight.
I’d like him in charge of protecting the First Amendment, but I don’t know of any cabinet position that handles that.
Anyone else catch the Dogecoin reference?
A real African American
“Ask not what your country can do for you......”
Yes, USG overstaffing is a problem. However, mis-staffing due to political driven hiring agendas is the far more serious and consequential problem.
Of course.
Musk loves thinly veiled jokes like that. Have you noticed that the names of the Tesla car models are S, 3, X, and Y? S3XY == SEXY
He admitted to that joke; I'm not making it up :-)
Economic advisor (one among a few), and technology advisor come to mind. Gets both titles. Also, Space advisor, or NASA administrator (a part-time position).
