Chicago mayor personally intervened on behalf of protest groups over stages, sound system for Union Park rally, organizer says

CHICAGO — Mayor Brandon Johnson personally intervened in a dispute between his own administration and a coalition of activist groups set for a massive protest at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago next week, helping reverse the city’s denial of a permit to set up stages and sound systems for rallies in a park near the United Center, the coalition’s leader said Friday.

The agreement, which was reached after hours of back-room negotiations between the parties, nullified an emergency motion filed in U.S. District Court earlier this week alleging the city had violated protesters’ First Amendment rights by restricting how the rallies could be staged.

“We talked directly to the mayor,” Hatem Abudayyeh, executive director of the Arab American Action Network, said during a news conference in Federal Plaza after the deal was struck. “We knew that he supported us, our coalition and these protests and it’s proof positive that he called one of the top leaders of the coalition directly on his cellphone and said ‘We’re gonna make this happen. I’m gonna make sure that everybody’s rights are protected.'”

The demonstrations outside of the DemonRats' convention are going to be a lot more fun to watch than the convention itself. An evil person might even want to give some food and water to the demonstrators.

Let’s go Brandon Johnson!

The protestors could get super loud sound equipment and drown out the DNC?

Mayor Dumb Ass is asking for trouble and he’s going to regret it. At least I hope so.

The Chicago cops know the Chief and the Mayor does not have their backs.

They would be fools to risk their own lives and careers by showing up for work next week.

That boy can really govern!

There has never been a Chicago mayor worth a bucket of warm spit. AND they get progressively worse. You asked for it Chicagoans and you get it!

As al mayor this clown would make a better shoeshine boy.

The original quote referred to the office of the Vice President. And rather than spit, it was piss. Certainly applies to the current holder of the office.

Can we also contribute to the purchase of the pallets of bricks that mysteriously tend to show up at these things?

Wouldn't be a bit surprised if Skank Harris made her acceptance speech remotely, after all it is her people in the streets.  She made it this far without a single vote so suffice to say since it the commie style.

Would be a passable opportunity to potentially identify these troublemakers and any foreign handlers.

After unrest on the West Side following MLK’s assassination — and later at the DNC — Illinois went to the Republicans, who won the state in six consecutive elections.

.........“We talked directly to the mayor,” Hatem Abudayyeh, executive director of the Arab American Action Network, said during a news conference......

Oh boy! This creep is named “Hate-Em”!

Will he be the new—and more toxic—Abbie Hoffman?

Will his minions chant “the whole is watching” as in Chicago 1968?
