Vice President Harris is nipping at former President Trump’s heels in his home state of Florida, a pollster from Suffolk University says after a new Sunshine State survey.
The USA Today/Suffolk University/WSVN-TV poll found Harris just 5 points behind Trump among likely Florida voters, 42 percent to 47 percent, just outside the poll’s margin of error.
Florida has a million more registered Republicans than Democrats, and Trump won the state in both 2016 and 2020.
“Given those circumstances, I was surprised that Harris is within striking distance, being only 5 points down,” David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk University Political Research Center, told USA Today in a Tuesday report.
Among Florida independents, the vice president leads the former president with 41 percent support to 34 percent, with independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. taking 10 percent.

Ditto that. I also didn’t believe the polls before that showed Trump way ahead. Don’t trust any of them.
Not necessarily due to some nefarious intent but the fact that many people don’t answer the phone for strange calls not in their address book. So polling itself is a strange difficult exercise nowadays.

After the 18 election, I went to the rally behind Snopes’ office.
Matt Gaetz showed up with a box truck containing pallets of copy paper representing how many ballots Brenda “found” over the w/e. I think it was like two pallets, 4’ cubes of copy paper. Each ballot was 8 pages in that election.
So Brenda “found” two pallets worth of ballots.
There are two refs on the ballot here, both friendly to Dems: Recreation Marijuana and Abortion. It will be closer than 2020 here.
Striking distance? What are they talking about, taking another shot at him? (Hope not!).
