Biden Promised Peace, but Will Leave His Successor a Nation Entangled in War

Speaking from the Oval Office last month as he explained his decision not to seek re-election, President Biden boasted about his accomplishments. One of them, he suggested, was presiding over an era of peace.
“I’m the first president in this century to report to the American people that the United States is not at war anywhere in the world,” Mr. Biden declared to the nation.
But while America is no longer waging a large-scale ground war like those in Iraq and Afghanistan, for much of his tenure Mr. Biden has seemed like a wartime leader.
Since pulling the last American troops out of Afghanistan three years ago, Mr. Biden has spent much of his presidency mobilizing public opinion and military might against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and playing a deeply engaged role in supporting Israel in its war in Gaza, and against Iran and the groups it backs.
“War will be a key part of Biden’s legacy,” said Stephen Wertheim, a senior fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. “What’s hard to wrap one’s head around is that, although the United States is not directly involved in the wars in Ukraine or Gaza, the risks of large-scale conflict have become higher over the course of Biden’s presidency.”
The implications for Mr. Biden’s successor — either former President Donald J. Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris — could be huge.

Corporate gaslight press article presented under topic "humor" to grant it the respect it deserves.
“I’m the first president in this century to report to the American people that the United States is not at war anywhere in the world,” Mr. Biden declared to the nation. This bizarre statement is why the article deserves to be posted under the topic "humor."

Yep...It’s a good example of how liberals exist in a fog. And that goes for the youngest to the senile like Biden.

Said another way the NYT won’t, the last troops out of Afghanistan were the dead, murdered bodies of those soldiers. Xiden will be known throughout history in the decades to come that he is a pathological liar and a communist. And adding to that and a good bet that Nanzi & Co. that forced him off the ticket made a ‘promise’ to him about a presidential library, however Xiden may croak any day now so there will be no entity to follow through on this ‘promise.’ Doctor Jilly isn’t going to be listened to either ha ha ha.

They used to call it the Biden-Harris administration.
Now they are trying to make it seem like Kackula wasn’t even in the fake administration.

I always post that disclaimer because there are those around here who go insane whenever something from the gaslight press is posted.
I am curious whether you read comments.

According to a news report, the white house is locked down and ambulances were leaving? Anyone hear about this? They finally going to admit that Biden is no more. I’ve heard nothing and I questioned his source. ABC.

You misunderstood. Biden didn’t promise peace; He promised that he would get a piece of the action.

Trump did avoid most war but Biden certainly has us on the brink of WWIII as well as a takeover of Taiwan, a possible shut down of passage of all ships in the Red Sea and dangers from Iran and North Korea to our troops and allies. Plus the deaths and leaving behind of military equipment in Afghanistan were shameful. Taunting Putin and sending money and military aid to Ukraine has brought war closer to home for the US than a long time.
Some “give peace a chance” guy.

Biden was playing with words and their meanings, what you would expect from someone with a law degree and which is a career politician.
Just like another lawyer and career politician, B. Clinton who “served” the public while becoming rich and setting up his wife and kid for a bright future, while not knowing the meaning of the word “is.”
—Clinton, “That depends on what the meaning of ‘is’ is.” https://content.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,1859513_1859526_1859523,00.html
