The crisis in the region has worsened following the assassination of Haniyeh in Tehran. Global pressure on Iran to refrain from attacking and to accept a difficult compromise is growing.
Sources like Axios reports that the U.S., Europe, and Arab countries are urging Iran not to respond militarily to Israel, to avoid escalating the conflict into a wider war. Some sources say Iran has assured the U.S. and Europe that it won’t target civilians in Israel. Other reports suggest that Iran might rely on Hezbollah in Lebanon for any actions at this stage. Khamenei, facing internal and regional crises and fearing a potential uprising, ordered mass executions of prisoners just before announcing the new president’s cabinet. In the last four days, 42 prisoners were executed to intimidate the people and prevent any uprising, taking harsh revenge on those who oppose him.

One would think a retaliation would have come by now.
My own guess is that Russia and China asked them to bide their time, and the USA also promised Iran something for holding back.
A few days ago, the news was about a lot of Russian military aircraft flying into Iran. A bit later it was reported that Russia was supplying Iran with the latest air defense systems. If both reports were true, and the planes were transporting those systems, how long does it take to locate sites for them, install them, and get them operational? It might take a few days or a couple of weeks.
If you harbor a monster you are gonna get hurt. Tough.

Sorry to be off subject, but your name reminded me of something from my early youth. In the late 1930s my brother and I found a Springfield .45-70 trapdoor with a round ramrod bayonet exploring in the attic of the old family home. I think my brother sold it about 1950.
