So do Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland also deserve a beating? After all, they, too, are NATO nations that border Russia?

If NATO membership was the problem for Putin, that had been a problem for a number of years. It's only when Biden became president that Putin saw the opportunity to go after Ukraine, which had been his goal for many years in order to rebuild a new Soviet Union. So, if the NATO membership was a problem for many years, why didn't Putin make it an issue during Trump's presidency? Putin saw the opportunity and took it, because, he had a very weak American president in place. If NATO was the problem for Putin, why was it a problem only when Biden became president?

Mexico is smarter.

Why bring Mexico into the discussion? Was Mexico ever offered NAT) membership?

And, didn't Russia express interest in becoming a NATO member at one time? NATO was not a problem then, was it?

I'm sure Putin appreciates all your efforts on behalf of his invasion and your glee about the suffering in Ukraine is just the topping on the cake for him.
