Vice President Kamala Harris has selected Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her vice presidential running mate, according to three sources with knowledge of the pick, adding a popular Midwestern state executive to the Democratic ticket as the party gears up to hold onto key Northern battleground states this fall.
In picking Walz, who's in his second term and also served 12 years in Congress, Harris will have as her No. 2 someone with a proven record of winning over white working-class voters in Rust Belt states while also boasting a robustly progressive record.
Democrats will hope that mix of attributes helps a Harris-Walz ticket shore up support in the onetime “blue wall” states of Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan — longtime Democratic strongholds at the presidential level that Donald Trump flipped in 2016 and Joe Biden flipped back in 2020. This year, they’ve been seen as Biden’s, and now Harris’, most viable path to victory.
Walz, 60, had initially been viewed as a long shot in a field of vice presidential contenders that included rising party stars, some of whom have been mentioned as future presidential candidates, including Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro.

I think the fear of losing would not be why anyone turned her down. Maybe it was the fear of winning. Being this horrible woman’s VP would be hell on earth.
Great news for Jews, too. Last thing we need is another disgraceful shmuck in the spotlight. Walz can walz around with Commie Lala to his heart’s content, until November, when she’ll have to start looking for a real job.
“Minnesota is losing population, folks not having children and fleeing for better economic conditions. Not a good recommendation for Waltz.”
According to the Minnesota State Demographic Center, Minnesota’s population grew by 1.0% between 2021-2022.
The population in 2022 was 5,801,769. That was a net gain of
59,733.

Shaprio could have assisted with the must win state of PA, but he supports Israel.
Walz is governor of a safe blue state. He brings nothing to the ticket. He supports the Palestinians.
She had a choice between the Nazi and the Jew. She chose the Nazi.
An obvious indicator where the future of the Democrat party is going.
two commies for the price of one
“Walz is further to the left than Kamala is, a self-admitted socialist with a well-documented history of embracing extremely far left positions way outside of the mainstream, particularly during Covid and the Floyd riots.”
She’s going after the youth vote. She has the women’s vote. She has the minority vote. Shapiro would have hurt her with voters under age 30.
Socialism doesn’t bother them. In fact, they want more socialism, better pay, cheaper healthcare, cheaper education.
Hard to predict if her gamble will pay off, but if voters under the age of 30 turn out, the GOP is cooked.
This POS commie watched the cities burn during 2020 and locked the state down during Covid. He also ran away from Iraq duty to run for congress. What a American loser. Compare that to Vance.
Sociopathic “progressives” must view this as an ideal outcome.
Nobody will remember that, and Covid is a net negative for Trump.
Holder made the pick.
He made a big mistake.
Female major ticket presidential candidates pick white guys named Tim as their VP running mates. Makes ya think…
Picked solely for his bluster, IMO.
He will step out front and try to match Trump’s tough talk, to bring working class democrats and union members back to the party.
This will allow Harris to continue to hide while Walz defends her supposed honor from Trump’s personal attacks. And, it will take Trump’s focus off Harris while he wallows in the mud with Walz.
Trump’s best play in response would be to tone down his act and focus on Harris’s policy failures, but he’s not prone to do that, and most of his supporters seem more interested in hearing the tough talk and mud slinging as well.
So prepare for endless insults between Walz and Trump, probably worse than what we saw with Biden.
Agreed. For the first time in 2 weeks Righty Twitter seems happy
Man, that Philly campaign event is gonna be AWKWARD
Why go through this public self humiliation ritual if you didn't want the job?
The MSNBC crowd is disappointed? That tells us a lot....
Philly has always been Biden’s safe space. He made that creepy “red” speech there.
He’s probably trying to save face for both himself and Harris, who knows. If he declined, her inability to pick him is ‘off the table’.
There’s a segment of the left who would not accept Shapiro regardless of what he said or did.
I can’t stomach the channel, another more brave freeper went over to see their response and they were bummed by the pick, saying it was an error on her part.
