To Defeat the Houthis, Starve Their Military Resupply
National Security Journal ^ | 8/1/2024 | Michael Rubin

The Houthis likely receive weaponry in three ways. First is by sea, as Iran resupplies the Houthis through the port of Hudaydah. This is why Iranian diplomats both activate their proxy advocacy groups to warn of imminent humanitarian disaster if anti-Houthi forces seize the capital and disrupt supposed aid supplies and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps– Navy mines ships in the Gulf of Oman to signal to the United Arab Emirates a willingness to outflank them should they endanger Iran’s Houthi supply.

While I appreciate the analysis, why does America have to do it all? Why can't Israel do this? Just saying...

Why does Israel have to do it all? They have attacked our ships as well.

Why not Egypt? 80% of shipping via Suez Canal has been stopped by these sand savages. Egypt has a huge military and actually manufactures Abrams Tanks.

We are still playing “whack-a-mole” in the Mid-east after 40 years.

The financial costs of empire have put us on the verge of bankruptcy, while the political ones have turned DC into woke Comintern-on-the-Potomac

Why not Egypt?

YouTube ‘What’s Going On With Shipping’ has that answer. Egypt is getting hammered over loss of canal dues, but Hamas is right next door and likely still has the means to close the canal if Egypt acts too belligerently towards the Houthis.

They can and they would if joey bags and nincompoop sec def Austin would release the already paid for 2K bombs and JDAM kits.

The destruction of the missile from houthi land to Israel was claimed by Israel (way outside their air coverage, btw) but was actually done by US Navy fighters from the USS Roosevelt strike group in the Gulf of Aden. where they are cruising around.

Hezbollah would be gone- finished if joeybags would stop appeasing his pimped palestinians who now lub dem some ka-MA-la. Stop violating a weapons agreement with Israel. They will get it done. See: Haniyah (some kind of op, during the new Iranian President’s inauguration event. Through a freaking window taking out a cache, Haniyeh the 4 billionaire and his bodygards and a big BOOM).

With further investment of another 40 years and a few trillion dollars, the United States will prevail over the Houthis! I’m sure of it.

The 9/11 Saudis live adjacent to Yemen. For ten years the Saudis tried to vanquish Yemen with its American supplied high performance aircraft. Alas Saudi pilots failed. It seemed bombing from 15,000 feet only punched holes in the desert ( when the bombs actually exploded. Eventually the Saudis bought a temporary reprieve with their petro dollars. If the Houthis are to be eliminated , it will take competent boots on the ground and a long bloody campaign that neither the 9/11 Saudis, the Americans or the Israelis wish to fight.

“The financial costs of empire have put us on the verge of bankruptcy,”

What we spend on ‘international affairs’ hardly shows on a budget pie chart.

Most of the budget is for mandatory spending.

A multi-billion dollar carrier task force has not put a dent into the sand people with cheap drones and missiles. I blame it on political resistance.

The thought is if they made peace with Israel would be a good defense partner for them. The Saudi’s saw how Israel hit the houties.
Make peace with ISRAEL and the Saudis, UAE, Egypt,Jorden would be able to live safer and more friendly neighborhood.

The Houthi’s are the modern day equivalent of the Barbary pirates from the turn of the 19th century. They should be treated with the same vigor and the same results.

Step One, find their money.

Step Two, make sure they don’t have it.
