Hawaii’s Democrat governor said Wednesday that parties involved in lawsuits regarding the 2023 wildfires are nearing a settlement.

The lawsuits were brought against the state, Maui County, and utilities following the devastating wildfires that tore across Lahaina and left residents devastated in August of 2023, the Associated Press (AP) reported on Wednesday.

As the fires raged, Governor Josh Green said they were “likely the largest natural disaster in Hawaii’s state history,” according to Breitbart News.

Video footage shows the fires ravaging the community as people tried to escape:

Per Wednesday’s AP report, Green explained the settlement of claims will come to just over $4 billion.

As of July 1, 2023, Hawaii’s population was 1,435,138, which is a 0.3% decrease from 2022. The state’s population has been declining in recent years, with a 0.51% decline from 2021 to 2022 and a 0.31% decline from 2020 to 2021. Some reasons for the decline include more people moving out of Hawaii than moving in, but more people moving to Hawaii from foreign countries than moving out.

The solution is simple. Restore the monarchy and turn it into a protectorate. Allow only native Hawaiians to vote(superdelegates). Protectorate status means 2 blue senators are out of work. Haloe homeowners have to give their homes over to a returning native family upon their passing.

I’ve advocated this before. The democrats would do the same thing if the tables were turned. Why can’t we? It would stir the pot more than term limits on the SCOTUS. What are WE waiting for?

Do they get the money only if they give up the property?

So it’s just a forced buyout with other peoples money, instead of forced taking with the power of Goobermint?

Either way, The Man gets the Land, and the People get Screweled.

Was wondering the same thing. Real media needs to follow up on this story.

Obama should hold a fund raiser.... His library is worth more than that. Of course Obama doesn’t care.

But I have been talking to some people I know on island. Just about all the building there had been made without permits or up to any kind of basic safety standards. The many rental properties (commercial and residential) carried no insurance at all and knowing the Hawaiian lifestyle it is doubtful any renters had their own insurance. The homeless camps up wind were allowed for years most likely how the fire started. So with all that the local politicians are looking to blame anyone else but decades of mismanagement. One thing Hawaii produces are incredibly stupid and corrupt politicians. Of course we taxpayers will get the bill and 99% of it will go to the Mauai county bureaucrats.
