When President Biden passed the torch to Kamala Harris last Wednesday in his nationwide address, he endorsed his vice president for his party’s nomination using three important words: Experienced. Tough. Capable.
These are exactly the words Harris needs to be said about her if she is to successfully navigate a perilous gender labyrinth called the “warmth-competence” matrix. And surviving this matrix is why nearly all Harris’s potential VP picks have one thing in common: they are white men who exude competence.
Landmark studies by Princeton University psychology professor Susan Fiske and other behavioral psychologists find women are held to a double standard on two metrics: warmth and competence. Fiske and Harvard psychology professor Mina Cikara call it “ambivalent sexism.” In one study, researchers at the University of Michigan and Carnegie Mellon University found women lose “status” when they network, viewed as overly “dominant and ambitious.”

Back in 1992, the woefully underqualified Bill Clinton claimed that Al Gore (of all people) added competency to the ticket and even went so far as to claim that Algore would be “Co-President”.
Harris will need to choose either Josh Shapiro or even Gretchen Whitmer as running mate. Gavin Newsom is out given the mess California is currently in.

Any man or woman that joins Harris as VP, is not competent at all.
Why would anybody want to be ‘second’ to a nobody? Harris shouldn’t even be part of any team, much less lead a team.
It would be like a teacher being led by one of her students. It would be like a military general being led by a private. It would be like corporate CEO allowing himself to be led by a mailroom clerk.

Looks like Democrats won’t accept two black people on the ticket, they need a white savior. Hmmm, seems racist. I think they need another black woman to prove that the country has grown past straight white men.
Republican party would need to run ads wondering if voting for a Jew is the best thing for a free Palestine but Republicans don’t have that in them. Republicans don’t go in the same way as Democrats. It is more respectable, sure. It’s probably not the way to power though.
