Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday he will put the finishing touches on an “action plan for peace” by the end of November. He added that he cannot discuss a ceasefire while Russian forces occupy Ukrainian territory.
Zelensky touted his “action plan for peace” as an extension of June’s “Global Peace Summit” in Switzerland, which produced a communique calling for restoration of Ukraine’s “territorial integrity.”
Representatives from 91 nations signed the communique, but Russia was not one of them. Russian President Vladimir Putin instead demanded Ukraine surrender its occupied eastern provinces to Russian control and abandon its plans to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Putin additionally demanded all foreign forces withdraw from the Eastern European region he imagines as Russia’s sphere of influence.

What exactly, is Ukrainian territory? Does that include the Crimea? Getting that back is wildly unrealistic. They’d be wiser to use it as a bargaining chip to get the rest of their lands back.

The war continues if Harris wins. Zelensky will continue to try to get all the territory back for Ukraine.
Both areas have had special consideration since Ukraine wrote its Constitution in 1991 (I think). In fact, they actually left Crimea out, rewrote and refiled the next day. From memory but will go back. and find it.

If Harris wins, he won’t need one. He’ll just continue using the US Treasury as Ukraine’s personal ATM.
If President Trump wins, Zelensky’s greasy, little hand will no longer be in the pockets of the US Taxpayers.

That should really put some resolve into the Ukrainian soldiers. “Go out there and put yourself in harm’s way until November, and we will end this.”
Zelinski needs to have his government immediately withdraw their law making it illegal to negotiate with Russia.
Trump will solve this for Ukraine because they have never once proved good faith in negotiations.
A peace will be imposed on Ukraine. Some will call it surrender. However, many forced to fight will be glad to live.
Zelinski and Ukraine’s peace plan calls for tribunals, repparations, or Russian surrender. Ukraine’s terms cannot begin with these old nonnegotionary demands. Should Ukraine show up in the fall still demanding such nonsense, Russian negotiators will never allow a cease fire, nor will they expedite their response to nonsensical BS.
Ukraine needs to sit down with Russia, something currently illegal for the Ukrainian government because of a law Zelinski demanded.
Trump will keep score. He doesnt need to tell Ukraine to cancel this law, but should they show up with it still in effect, he will have to halt arms to Ukraine. Negotiating in Good Faith demands no less.
Ukraine must prepare herself by removing internal roadblocks to negotiations.
Because there will be no cease fire until an agreement is reached, both sides have different incentives. Ukraine negotiating in good faith means more US support and continued hositilities. For Russia good faith in negotiations means the US does not escalate against Russia.
Because land is involved, one side will lose and one will gain land without a ceasefire.
A neutral Ukraine nonNATO member state who joins the EU.
A Ukraine without a NATO armed military.
Restoration of Russian culture and religon... for all cultures like the Hungarians, pols, Romannians, etc. inside Ukraine.
I do not see the political leadership in Ukraine ever being capable of such negotiations. It will require either the military ending it on the battlefield or another coup in Ukraine. The political leadership are not dying, yet. Let the Ukrainian game of throwns begin like musical chairs!
It matters little, Ukraine has lost. US welfare will only prolong the conflict and kill more Ukrainians.
